I swear nicotine has to be the hardest thing to quit!!!! Im a paraplegic and been through more shit in 22 yrs than ppl could even begin to imagine an i pulled through all of it. Litterally came very close to dieing from suicide, bacterial spinal meningitis, gangrene on a wound, had to get lower part of one leg amputated, having a child, anither suicide attempt, my husband saved me once, the other time my brothers wife's grandfather found me in my car one morning in the cemetery where my dad is barried, he died when i was 7, getting addicted to pain meds an much more shit, but nicotine has to be the fucking hardest an i cant even fucking do it. I just cant. I stopped smoking n started vaping years ago. I dont cough at all. I used to when i smoked cigarettes though. Man i wish i could quit. I'd be so lost lol. So, you can partake in nicotine, you just don't want to repeatedly use nicotine. If you use it at a party, that's fine. What will get you addicted is if you use it for the hangover and beyond. I would advise never doing it at all, but if you do, it will not be a life ender in anyway, so don't worry so much about it.

There is literally no evidence that vaping nicotine can lead to serious health problems, not a single person has died or been hospitalized from vaping regulated nicotine juice. All of those news scare stories that came out about people dying or being hospitalized form vaping were vaping black market THC cartridges, not nicotine. The media purposely made it look like it was nicotine. Do some research. The only people who got hospitalized from vaping nicotine were a few people who vaped some unregulated popcorn flavour that was bad for the lungs, but it was banned years ago and since then there hasn't been a single person who got negative health problems from vaping.

It’s been a long road of ups and downs, but I ultimately stopped. Going strong! Quitting vaping was so much harder than giving up alcohol and I’ve been sober for 3.5 years. To all those out there struggling with vaping addiction: I love you and wish you healing vibes. EDIT: I should’ve mentioned that I smoked for 7 years from ages 18-25. I am now 29. “You have to say no every day” hit me like a ton of bricks. I quit 6 years ago and I have to remember even now that I can never go back. I remember quitting for the 20th or so time and going through those first 2 weeks of withdrawal and saying “this has to be it. I can never go back because I will never make it through these first two weeks again”. I quit alcohol that year too and developed emotional/binge eating when I didn’t address the underlying issue of why I was only able to comfort myself with substances. Four years later I was able to get my eating under control too. A lot of that time I didn’t even realize I had a problem with it. For me it just took time to start rooting compulsion out of my life, and sometimes the removal of one compulsion made me lean into others, but that helped bring light to those areas and helped me address the root cause of WHY I was needing to cling to these things. I am an addict because I never learned how to comfort myself when dealing with unpleasant emotions. My parents never taught me because no one ever taught them. I could not soothe myself. I could not encourage myself. And it’s not that I tried to and couldn’t. I just never realized that I could. I didn’t know that was an option. Everything to reassure me had to come from outside sources. This resulted in addiction and codependency. I am still figuring out that last one. To anyone reading this that is still suffering in addiction: You are the only one that truly knows the depth and impact of your pain. You know what you’ve been through and survived. There is nothing to prove. nothing to explain. You already know the depth of it all. Be with yourself about that!! Notice yourself and all that you’ve been through. Acknowledge your strength (it’s ok to start small!). Build a conversation and exist WITH yourself to help work through and validate your pain, and maybe one day your happiness too. Build that inner relationship with yourself. One that you’ve likely been cut off from for a long time. Help give yourself what you have so desperately needed from others. Show love to yourself in all of the way that others have left you hanging. But ultimately, just keep going!!! I hope one day you can see how strong you are for making it this far. I hope one day you will feel safe with yourself. To be your protector and to the feel the safety of your protection. I hope one day you can recognize the light in yourself that you so easily recognize in others.

It depends in how long and how severe you use it. For me I have vaped then smoked cigarettes and it was back and forth. But I noticed everytime I would quit cigarettes and begin vaping I vaped a lot more. I use it as a crutch. When I'm happy, sad, angry, hungry, thirsty, and bored. I ended up using nicotine when I got put in foster care because it was the only thing I could go to for comfort. I look forward to it because it was a stability in my life that brought me 'joy'. Usually when I attempt to quit (which I have tried many times) I end up getting severely depressed and that is what makes me cave in. The cycle then repeats where I feel bad that I'm using nicotine again (hence why I went on this video). So for a majority of people, maybe it isn't that hard but for others it can be extremely difficult especially for someone who was a user of other substances. So we can't just discredit. I'm not calling her a liar or saying that she is telling the truth about her experience. I'm just going based on my experience of nicotine. I have also been on all of the nicotine replacement therapy and the two medications (which I had bad side effects from and allergic to the patch)

Do they need something to socialaze? Non-smokers are more relaxed than smokers, non-smokers better control their emotions, so why people smoke? In my experience , I slowly decrease the amount of nicotine in my vape solution until I was at the lowest I could go (3mg? I can't remember). I hung that coat rail for like 6 months before I eventually was ready to stop. Since I was on a lower dose I felt like the withdrawal wasn't as severe. I maybe experienced 3 days of discomfort and moodiness, after that it got easier day by day. I still want to smoke occasionally but it's always a fleeting thought. You will have to find alternative ways of managing your stress levels if you do let go of nicotine, that's probably the biggest piece of advise I can give. Good luck to you.

You'll face triggers like habits of when or where you'd most likely take a hit. Have a bag of barley sugars or something similar in your pocket for those moments so you can suck on that for distraction and get a little energy boost at the same time. Your hands need something to do as well. Maybe a stress ball or fidget spinner for a while. I speak from experience: I replaced smoking ciggies with vaping but used a mod rather than disposables so that I could slowly lower the nic concentration. Starting a combat sport (muy thai) made me quit smoking very quick. I was so ashamed of being the only guy that’s breathing heavily in the gym that I quit within 2 weeks. What helped me is I was focusing on the positive and not the negative which made the transition easier. What changed: 1. Breathing 2. No more congested nose 3. Louder, clearer voice 4. Blood flow (i am a man so thats a big plus and trust me the difference is big) 5. No more dark ring under the eyes 6. Confidence 7. Veines popping out 8. More energy, no energy drops after a cigarette 9. And I am still noticing changes. if all you think about is a cigarette , of course it’s gonna be hard so dont’t. Don’t hang out with people that smoke (until you stoped). Do sports

The hard part is not quitting, the hard part is not relapsing. You will have temptation all around you all the time. I smoked a lot and it was easier for me to quit smoking than quitting drugs and alcohol. I was a full blown addict and alcoholic. I've been clean. Sober and tobacco free going on 6 years now. You have to be strong, and your true friends who still smoke, to keep you from taking just 1 hit, will not smoke around you.

Love this! I quit smoking when I was 20. Stayed off it for 10 years. Went back in my 30ies, tried to quit several times. Switched to vaping wen a dear friend of mine died from lung cancer. It felt almost like I was more addicted to the vape all the while vaping gave me the illusion it’s less harmful than cigarettes. I got lucky and had a real bad asthma attack in my sleep that felt like I was gonna die from it. It got me so scared that I quit right after. Never touched my vape again in 6 years. Will never go back. My life is so much better now! I started looking younger after I quit even though I was in my late thirties. Crazy! I’m so much healthier and I appreciate life so much more. But it’s crazy what you go through when you withdraw. It’s totally worth it though!
