Such a great video! I also started out with Recording Revolution when I wanted to dig deeper a few years ago, and it helped me so much. I think that the thing that I connected with the most is that mixing is a part of the compositional process, so things like note choices, voicing, and so on, will have a huge effect on the sound. With electronic music, it might be easier to have more control over this, though. Mixing is deep...

Thanks Omri! Yes mixing definitely had so many positive effects on how I compose music too. Learning mastering takes that to a whole new level, particularly in terms of sound design choices!

I'm glad you are trying out creative video ideas like this, I like videos where people make connections to other things and I think interesting ideas can come from doing that on a habitual basis

Very interesting because I follow lots of different awesome music genre producers here on KZitem, to help me learn more about Ableton, Sound design, effects and production etc, then tweak it for my Ambient tracks. Would welcome more videos on this topic. Thank you 😊

I really quite enjoyed this. Funny that you’re not a ‘rock guy’ but learned so much from a rock course, well, I’m not an ‘ambient guy’ but always pick up some great info on your channel😊

Also I love the idea of high frequencies panned out and Low in centre I’m going to give this a try - I assume mono tracks for synths is the go for this effect ?

Yes definitely works better with mono instruments, but it is possible to get good effects with stereo instruments - just takes more fiddling!

Are you saying record all synths VST in mono ?
@holosuitemastering

Thanks so much for watching! I am not saying it should be done strictly, just that it's easier to mix mono instruments than stereo ones. I will often record one part in stereo to give some fullness, and make the rest of the parts be mono to keep the complexity down 😉
