This short demo video is about different exercises on how to improve your forehand. This video includes 4 drills:
1. Forehand loop from corner, middle, corner.
Tips: bend your knees, be balanced, use your legs, and your whole upper body, rotate, use your hip to generate power, and close your paddle angle, contact the top of the ball and while you are moving start your backswing immediately. Keep your elbow forward while you are doing your strokes.
2. Forehand loop from corner, middle, corner, corner.
This exercise is almost the same as the previous one but involves more footwork.
3. Forehand flick and forehand loop.
Tips: bend your knees, stay low, keep your elbow forward, step in with your right foot and do a mini snap (forehand flick) over the table, then step out immediately with your right foot after finishing your flick (your left foot should be forward) and do a forehand loop (close your racket angle and brush the ball).
4. Forehand loop from underspin* and topspin.**
Tips: Bend your knees, be balanced, use your legs, keep your left foot forward (if you are right-handed), rotate, use your hip to generate power, have your backswing, use your whole upper body, and contact the back of the ball from underspin, point down with your paddle (your wrist shouldn’t be up), accelerate with your wrist, brush the ball, then for the next shot close your paddle angle and contact the top of the ball (topspin). Have the follow-through forward. Don't change the angle of your paddle throughout your stroke.
*Forehand loop from underspin: start your stroke low and open the angle of your paddle (contact the back of the ball).
**Forehand topspin from the drive: you can start your stroke higher, close the angle of your paddle, and contact the top of the ball.
