What length of line do you use? Braid (50lbs) and fluorocarbon (450yd braid 50yd fluorocarbon?)? Trying to refine my setup. Great content as always. Hope to see you out there. Thank you!

I have 500 yards of 50lb power pro to 50ft of 30 or 40lb Berkeley vanish fluoro. I mark my braid at 200ft of line to know how far to set my bait out. 200ft plus the 50ft leader. The Berkeley vanish is the best deal I’ve found. Good luck 🤙

Hey, I got a new one. I’m not sure if I got it before this video, but it’s the one I am currently using. Standard horizon HX 890 from west marine. Got the 2 warranty (product plus plan for when it fails). Before that one I had a 2 pack, HX 100 which worked fine for about a year. The main down sides were range and battery life.

Thanks Bob! I fished solo around 60-70% of the time because of different work schedules. I would run both cameras after I hooked up to a fish. Then I can change between views during editing.

@bloodypajamas1944

You gotta change ur frequency to as low as your fishfinder can go either 77 hz or 140 hz if that’s lowest it is muuuuch better in the ocean and over 50ft deep

How’s that Bonito jerky ? We catch those things like no other
@FlyingFish_TV
3 жыл бұрын
I think it is really good. My friend from Florida said the Bonita on the east coast of Florida taste different than the ones in Hawaii. Lots of locals in Hawaii prefer the kawa (Bonita) to yellow fin tuna for sashimi. The jerky recipe is easy just soy sauce (1 cup ish), 1 tablespoon each of black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. I put it all in a gallon bag that is about half full with the thin Bonita strips. Marinate over night in the fridge and then just transfer it strait onto the dehydrator. 3-5 hours and it is done. I’m about to build a light conventional slow jigging rod, should be perfect for going after some red fish down your way.
@skylaryoung3750

@@FlyingFish_TV I’ll have to give it a try they are a super easy catch but fight so hard. If you head this way stop by and grab some jigs I have plenty to share and I also make them, we can talk slow jigging as I’m deep in that rabbit hole lol

16:00 you should know better than to fight a fish over the side like that... to easy to get flipped, always fight to the front of your kayak
