I completely feel for you. There have been quite a few times where I have broke down into tears because I don't know if I am in the right school, and where next year I have to choose my GCSEs I am scared incase I do them and fail or choose the wrong ones and fail.. My amazing form tutor told me that if we believe that we are going to fail, our chances of succeeding decrease. If you do make a wrong move, you can always pick yourself up again.

@@sparrowriver7916 Find people in the field you are looking to go into and try to interview them. Ask questions like "what is your typical day at work like" or "if there was something you'd change about your job, what would it be". Whatever questions you think will get you a 'feel' for what you'd be doing. Find something you think you'd be generally happy doing. No sense in doing something you'd hate. I've been there. It sucks. I'm 41 and am seeking my 3rd career. My previous two careers I was not happy in and just trying to pay the bills. Now, I'm trying to balance money and happiness, because I cannot see working for another 30 years, hating my job and life. I have no idea what I want to do and I'm in my 40's! Don't be me. LOL

In my experience a career can evolve as we evolve too . When we are choosing a career while having various interests it would be good to also ask ourselves what excites us the most and aligns with our interests and values the most. This is why career exploration is such a key part of the journey of picking a career.

Emma Cooper animal rights and advocacy has really risen to the forefront. The vegan movement is part of that. Pursuing your heartfelt calling requires a hard look into this cause to figure out how you can actually make money doing it.
@olaolga

@@tubularme666 veganism is one of the worst cults, duping people that it's the healthiest way of living when it couldn't be further from the truth. Most who felt for this scam permanently damage their health and some even die. Vegans don't care that this diet harms humans, they brush it off with "you didn't do it right" no matter which way you did it, that is after they claim it's easy to be vegan and you can eat whatever you want as long as it is not animal product. They are aggressive and display psychopathic trates. One doesn't have to join the cult to care for animal well-being.

I had a foodservice career for 10 years, working my way up from a busser to an executive chef. I had a "calling" to be a chef, but I learned the hard way that a calling becomes everything you are. I became severely depressed because I didn't have time or energy for anything else that made me happy. I coped with this depression by working more hours to distract myself from my problems outside of work. Now I'm looking to make a switch from a calling to a career. This video helped me a lot in defining the difference between the two. My biggest fear is falling into the same workaholic habits I've had in the past, but I think with a job I don't view as my identity, these problems will be easier to avoid. Thank you.

Thanx! The most insightful thing in the whole video for me was the question of "WHO ARE YOU JEALOUS OF?" I've been in one career direction and always wanted to do another but I'm not sure about the money making prospects of being a writer. So I guess my next question is how do I transition into a place where I can do that comfortably. I did the persona quiz and concluded that none of the personas fit me, but perhaps that's because I'm viewing it in the light of the industry or career path I've been in all along.

My biggest fear about choosing my career path generally is continuing to find jobs where I fail to be motivated or meet the standard, where I feel bogged down by work and that it's getting in the way of me being a free-range chicken with a feeling of creativity and spontaneity at reach, rather than being caged in with a rigid routine and routine work. My biggest fear about my next career move which I am thinking, is finding myself in the wrong position. What if it's missing something very important to me? Like analysis, if I'm in sales. Or communication, if I'm in engineering. What if it's missing deep work and slow pace, if I'm in management? What if it's boring, if I'm a researcher, and I'm stuck to one long project/task?

I think that it is important to live in peace and people to learn how to communicate without shouting and without fighting physically. Torture is never fair and judging people based on rumours and the way that they look isn’t okay. For those who are choosing between multiple careers, be careful if you'd like to pursue a career outside of healthcare, and want to use a role, say a caregiver/CNA as a lilypad job, be careful. It is easy to get labeled a healthcare worker, and becomes next to impossible to break out of it. I'd ended up taking a home care job, figuring that having a job would help me find a better one. Nope. The further I went along, the more it became difficult to even get an interview. I literally had to walk away from healthcare to start getting interviews in positions I wanted to take.

The video gives the answer @Hardik Chaubey I have learned the hard way that you need to either love what you do or Do what you love. You will have to check which is your forte ...Coding or Networking Wha is going to pay you more and what is more important for you and on that basis go about with it. I tried the exercise in this video and I was able to get myself on the right path. Try it out it should help. The second tip itself says get rid of your jealousy and convert it into admiration and a positive sense for a person that you are jealous of. Do a competitor annalysis and do what he did in the right way.

I recently coached a 68 year old man who was at the top of his game as a business executive. He was ready for a change. He got crystal clear about what his values, vision and mission were at this point in life and successfully launched into an entirely new career direction. Age is not a barrier to change. Get help. Go for it!

Biggest fear: to start a job and end up with a team of hell or to be micro managed, underpaid and overstressed, coming home with not enough money and deep dissatisfaction, not enough time left to enjoy what I like to do in my free time, for personal development or for my family.

This is more common than we think!! When you have tried different things you can have a better view of what you like and DON'T like, try to explore more different areas before the final decision and probably you will have a very definite choice.

I have done many different jobs in my life and I had never had a problem with the job itself - no matter how simple it is you can always find something meaningful in it. People you have to work with and psychopaths in charge can ruin the most rewarding thing that you can think of... This is why so many working age people die on Monday. Finding a place that doesn't suck the life out of you just maybe the most rewarding thing!

Regardless of career path choice, my biggest challenge and obstacle is that I'm just not very social with strangers. I don't trust people, as I've seen gossip and jealousy in every job I've had. I'm an introvert and like to keep to myself. When people start asking questions, regardless of how innocent they may be, I feel like they are prying. I realize this has kept me from getting promotions and raises and proper recognition, even when I've made vast improvements in my job.
