Turns and nocturnes what a beautiful lesson! To turn or noct-turn that’s the problem! By the way Chopin is my favorite piano composer and Siskind my favorite jazz piano teacher.

You did it! The prelude sounds to me like op.28 no.4 for the descending repetitive chords but it's the right hand that plays the melody in the original prelude. There is also the etude op.25 no.7, a true masterpiece, that sounds more similar in texture to what you played at 8:03. I'm a classical pianist by the way, and I stuggle a lot with jazz improvisation but I love your approach.

Thanks, Yahya! I'm glad someone knows Chopin's repertoire better than I do. :0

I think the prelude you are talking about is Op. 28, No.6… so called “the cello prelude” in B minor!

Just discovered your channel, and it’s blowing my mind! I know you’ve done Debussy and Chopin, but if you’re able, could I request a Bach style jazz arrangement vid? Or more specifically, one that deep dives into contrapuntal techniques? Also I will definitely be getting your book!

Wow! Talk about adding another level of emotion to standards. It is very nice to hear All The Things You Are played in this way, Jeremy! Thanks for your constant sharing of musical ideas....and I love that diminished on the tonic!

Great Video! Some things I thought about for Chopin's style off the top of my head: Diatonic thirds Chromatic double notes from a minor third up to a tritone Bassline moves stepwise or in the circle of fifths Disguised V I and I V Using leaps expressively (you talked about this in another video) Every phrase is a type of call and response Don't play too many notes
