My version of sausage balls came from my cousin’s home-ec class back in the 70’s as “Zippy“ sausage Balls. We use Bisquik, hot sausage, hand-shredded cheddar and about 1/2 cup of milk. My son loves them and he is usually the one who makes them.😊

Hi Amanda. I have never made spinach and artichoke dip either and I've been married for 43 years. I have had it before at parties and gatherings and have always enjoyed it.

Nice Christmasy recipes. Seems I’ve been eating the spinach artichoke dip since the 70s. I know since the 80s for sure. I’m not surprised your husband liked the dates. My husband likes anything with bacon, too! ❤️🥓😊

I grew up in the 70's and never heard of the name "Devils on Horseback", nor have I ever tasted them, although I have heard of bacon wrapped dates in the last several years.

I had never heard of them so I asked my mother in law when I found the recipe and she said she always loved them. It’s been fun looking for these different retro recipes. Thank you for watching, Kim! ❤️

I have heard of the sausage balls and the spinach artichoke dip, but I have never heard of the devils on horseback or the date balls. They all look delicious. I LOVE dates and usually make an appetizer by splitting the date in half longways, putting a schmear of slightly sweetened cream cheese on each half and then sticking a pecan half onto the cream cheese. They are quite delicious as well.

I love spinach dip and recently got my husband loving it. One of my favorite ways to eat spinach dip is with Hawaiian bread.... I saved the recipe and plan on trying to make it too. Everything looks really good.

My husband will not eat cheese, so I make my sausage balls with a box stuffing, usually savoury herbs (your choice of flavor). I cook up some onions and red bell peppers and add these in. The sausage and the stuffing mix have so much flavor that you really don't need extra seasoning added. However, on occasion I will add some ground sage, garlic powder, and some wostershire? sauce as well. When I can, I'm going to try out at least two of the apps you shared today.

I do roll them into balls and bake them at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
