Recipe
Roasted Makhana:
For making makhana dishes, its roasting plays a major role. So roast the makhana as described in the video.
Take a heavy bottom pan and add approx 200 gms of makhana into this.
roast them on medium-low flame.
Oil or ghee is not required to roast them.
After 15 mintutes, check the makhanas by pressing them. If they are crunchy, they will break into pieces easily. Now your makhans are done and if not roast them again for 10 -15 mins .
When they slightly change their color, press them again and check the crunch.
makhanas are ready.
1) SALTED MAKHANA (You can also eat them while fasting)
Ingredients:
2 tsp ghee
30 gms roasted makhana
1/2 tsp black pepper
salt / sendha namak/rock salt (as per taste)
Method:
In a pan, add ghee, roasted makhana, salt, pepper and stir them on low flame for about 5-6 mins.
Once salt and pepper is coated properly, salted makhanas are ready to serve.
2) MAKHANA CHIVDA:
Ingredients:
30 gms roasted makhana
2 tbsp oil
1 green chilly
few curry leaves
1 red dry chilly
8-10 thin slices of dry coconut
1/4 cup peanuts
2 tbsp roasted chana dal
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp pudina powder
1/2 tsp tomato powder /aamchur
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black salt
salt ( according to taste)
method:
In a pan, add oil. When oil is hot, add green chilly, curry leaves, and stir them for 1 minute.
Now add peanuts and fry them for 2 mins.
Add roasted chana dal and fry them for 3-4 mins or till they are roasted and change their color.
Add turmeric and stir it. Add red chilly and coconut and fry them for 2 mins.
Now add roasted makhanas and roast this mixture for 5-10 mins.
Now add salt, black salt, garlic powder, pudina powder, tomato powder /aamchur and mix them well for 3-4 mins. Makhana Chivda is ready to serve.
3) Butter Masala Makhana:
Ingredients:
30 gms rosted makhana
2 tsp butter
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
1/2 tsp chaat masla
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
salt (as per taste)
method:
In a pan, melt the butter and switch off the flame.
Add all seasoning and mix it.
Now add roasted makhana and mix them well.
Delicious Butter Masala Makhana is ready to serve.
4) Tangy Cheese Makhana:
Ingredients:
30 gms roasted makhana
1 tsp butter
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 red chilly powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp red chilly flakes
1/2 tsp cheese powder
1/2 tsp tomato powder
salt (according to taste)
Method:
In a pan, add butter and when its melted add turmeric , red chilly powder and stir it for 1 minute.
Now switch off the flame.
Add oregano, red chilly flakes , tomato powder , cheese powder, salt .
Now add roasted makhana and mix them well.
Tangy Cheeze Makhana is ready to serve...
