Crime would be the only one that would concern me. Lived in Cincinnati 1978-1985 and it never seemed bad at that time. Considering moving back from Florida but crime statistics are scary, especially in the areas you want to go: OTR, and downtown.

Thanks so much for watching. Comments really help my channel. Again, I'm not the one to ask, but maybe ask the police department? Is it different per capita in that area than any other? There are now 3 stadiums plus the Heritage Bank Arena, tons of restaurants, parks and activities. Blink Festival is usually wall to wall folks.

Lived in cincinnati for the past 5 years, I'm currently snow birding in Florida, I've found it much sketchier here, even than being around places like price hill and college hill. It's not bad. It's all subjective to what you're use to.

@@brianpatterson1126 Thanks for watching and commenting, Brian. That's really interesting to hear. I've never been very far away from a beach or Disney so I just think of Florida as those types of places. I can say, I've shown homes in pretty much every area of Cincinnati and Dayton and only once felt oddly uncomfortable. I'm usually more creeped out by the house itself than the surrounding area. 😆👻🤣

Stay away from Avondale, (where I've been forced to live the past 7 years) the areas you mentioned, Bond Hill, Walnut Hills, Lower Price Hill, (Where I lived as a kid) Mt. Auburn....anything very much inner-city, to live, anyway. Unless being robbed monthly to lived in some tiny renovated apt in OTR, with all the noise & congestion, go for it. Those years....'78-'85....a LOT has changed since then. People just seem to act more outwardly & openly violent, but, there's still decent friendly people too.

Crime and traffic in Cincinnati is no worse than other cities, just avoid the high crime areas and you'll be fine. I moved back to Cincinnati in July from Phoenix; the traffic and crime is worse there. Arizona just turned blue, so you know crime is going to skyrocket glad I got out when I did. California transplants move in and ruin everything they touch, did the same to Vegas.

@@LivinginCincinnatiOhio Good question, I left such a long time ago I really don't remember that much but coming from Phoenix where a 30-year-old building is old and moving back east where 30 is new. Also seeing trees, hills, and winding roads because of the hills takes some getting used to. Phoenix is flat as a board and set in grids for the most part. On big difference is the street signs, OMG the signs in Cincinnati are tiny and the names change all the time. The signs in Phoenix are huge on the main streets in the subdivisions not so much. In Cincinnati without GPS you can't find anything until you've been here awhile.

@@briangulley6027 That's interesting about the street signs. I've not traveled as much in the last 10 years so I'm just kind of used to our signs, but the names changing and being different from one side of the street to the other, makes me nuts. Yes a GPS is pretty critical here, especially when they are working on the roads, or in my case, if you are talking on the phone while driving... And I can't imagine not having historical buildings and we've got nothing on Europe! We finally have homes that are 100+ years, but not hundreds of years. Not yet, at least. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!😊

There is really only one thing that really bothers me about CIncinnati. Moved here in 2014 and bought a house in Avondale in 2015. I live alone and was shocked to get my first water bill at something like $139 per month. It turns out it was the sewer charge that is based on your water pipe size. Mine was one inch. I researched this and had it reduced to 3/4 inch (that cost $1000) and still my bill is running around $90 per month without running the sprinkler system. I have a large water pipe size because I have a big sprinkler system. The water does not drain into the sewer system. I did more research on how the sewer charge is done in surrounding cities, Indy, Louisville, Columbus, Lexington, KY, St. Louis, Chicago etc. Nobody else does this, it is either a flat fee like $20 or $30 or based on a percentage of water used. This is a huge ripoff for homeowners and I think is a huge scam. Cincinnati is right on the Ohio river for goodness sake. Can anyone add more to this? What am I missing?

Sewer rates are astronomical in the MSD district. I know there is a long history of issues and maybe these stories will help. I don’t get into the political side of things but agree that there has to be a better way. I own a home near Avondale, and was shocked to get a 94.00 bill after a month of renovation and no one was living there-in fact the plumbing was shut off most of the time. 75% of the bill was sewer charges. www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2018/09/14/cincinnati-sewer-district-msd-ohio-auditor-finds-financial-abuses-seeks-800000-dollars-repayments/1288778002/ www.cincinnati.com/story/news/politics/2019/07/19/msd-rates-feds-try-force-cincinnati-and-hamilton-county-agree/1776755001/ Thank you so much for bringing this up. @@LivinginCincinnatiOhio WOW, thanks for that info in the article. I did not know about this. My rates have not changed since then and they still charge based on the size of your water line, as far as I know. This needs to be changed at least for residential customers. LIke you said, you can be charged for a service you are not even using and a big charge at that.

Thanks so much for your informative videos. Strongly thinking about moving back to Cincinnati. I was born and raised there, moved away, got married and now have 5 children. I want them to grow up closer to my family. Seems that every time we come back to visit, I cannot recognize the place with so many changes and updates. Can you do a video on school districts? Especially for families of the LGBTQ+ community? My name is Nadia, BTW

@@LivinginCincinnatiOhio In Panamá City lots of people stay in Cinta Costera, which is close to the financial district with beautiful ocean views. Another popular neighborhood is El Cangrejo, which is more of a walking neighborhood (Via Argentina) with lots of bars and restaurants. I found I really like El Cangrejo even though I'm not so into partying or bar life, but it's so walkable and close to the metro and the main drag (Av. Central España) which has many shopping options and a Rey supermarket. Last time I stayed in Best Western Zen hotel which is half a minute walk to Via Argentina and about 5 minutes to the Metro. If you hop on the Metro it's about 15 minute ride to Allbrook Mall which is huge! There's also an airport in Allbrook that has charters to David. Depending on how much time you have, after you fly into Panama City you can then get a flight to the western part of the country to the city of David. From there you should check out Bocas Del Toro and/or Boquete.
