When I was around 12-13 I was a passenger in a fatal car accident. The morning of we were going to take our sedan but I had a really weird feeling, I begged my grandfather to take the truck instead. I was very persistent. On the way there we were going down this country road about 55-60 mph when I looked to my right seeing a gold sedan that wasn’t appearing to stop at the stop sign. As soon as I went to scream out look out that’s when the impact happened. My head hit the window and I was knocked out or stunned it felt like we were rolling. The airbags did not deploy. I woke up to my grandmother trying to wake up my grandpa who was grey and unconscious. There were around 20 people surrounding the truck I was asking where is the other car?!! We were on top of the other car. We both were going around 60 mph and I still have ptsd from that car wreck. We were transported to the hospital and my grandfather told the doctors and paramedics how I begged him to take the truck. They just looked at him and said it’s a miracle you all survived in the truck in the car you would have been dead on impact. I wish I still had the pictures the whole right side of the truck was caved in. I still remember the sound. I had a severe concussion, my grandfather had a broken sternum. My grandmother suffered horrible bruising from the seatbelt and a broken leg I believe. I suffer from flashbacks when riding in the car at certain times

Sometimes reaction time is all it takes!! A few years ago, back in 1989, I was driving on a back country road here in New York, doing the speed limit which was "unposted", so I was driving 55 on the road. Suddenly from a dirt side road I saw a van dart out, stop for a split second and began to pull out in front of me!! I had no time to slow down, zero distance to stop in, and I had just enough time to scream at my wife in the passenger seat to "HOLD ON!"!! As the van ignored the stop sign completely, and pulled into the road in front of me, I aimed my 1988 Ford Tempo to the rear of the van and the dirt road it was pulling off of. As the front tire caught the edge of the dirt road I jerked the steering wheel back, forcing my Tempo up on the two driver's side wheels!! Now I am NOT a stunt driver by any means, but given the short amount of time I had to think about it, and given the speed and our trajectory I KNEW by doing this maneuver that I would miss the van completely and avoid and accident there! About 50 yards though on two wheels I gently aimed the car back onto the road, and gently steering the wheels to drop the passenger side tires back on the ground!! When I was finally able to stop the idiot in the van, didn't even stop to see if we were OK even though he was apparent he never actually stopped for the sign and cut us off!! I only wish that back in 1989 we had dash cameras, because to this day I am certain nobody actually believes this story......but it really made me freak having avoided a wreak as an "unofficial stunt driver"!!

When I was in the Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, we were doing a training jump to prepare for Grenada. This was back in 1983. The wind was a little too strong for jumping that day, but we went anyway. Hundreds, or perhaps thousands of jumpers were in the sky at the same time. Upon my exit of the plane (C130) a big gust of wind flipped me upside down. After 4 seconds, my static line opened my chute while I was still inverted. The chute then wrapped around my right leg. As we were jumping from a mere 250 ft, there was no time to pull my reserve and even if I did, it probably would have gotten tangled up in my main chute. So as fast as I could I unwrapped the chute from my leg. Looking back on this, I don't know how I accomplished this, but I did. I was then jerked upright and my chute finally opened less than 50 ft from the ground. I was supposed to turn into the wind, but there was no time. I was supposed to release my rucksack but there wasn't time. I slammed into the sand on the drop zone at least twice as fast as normal and then landed on the wrong side of my body where my rifle was. The wind dragged me across the drop zone while I struggled to release one side of my chute. I switched to trying the other side and it finally released, thereby collapsing my chute and bringing me to a stop. With a huge sigh of relief, I closed my eyes for a second and let the air that I was holding in my lungs out. When I opened my eyes and looked up, I learned that another jumper was about to land on me and had to roll over while he landed on my chute. I know this sounds unbelievable, but it really did happen. Somehow I was completely uninjured. But that is not quite the end of the story. Immediately after gathering up my chute, I had to find the Gamma Goat that we dropped from another plane and drive it over to the spot where the howitzer landed and hook up. Then I had to find the rest of my squad and the firing range, then send off a round. Following that, we were all in formation, being told results. I actually can't remember how we did, because of something the battery commander said to me. He asked who was the 5th man out of the plane, and I answered that I was. He then told me something that I will never forget. He said that I, (the guy who got flipped upside down and most definitely should have died or got severely injured), had the best exit out of the plane in the entire battery! I can only assume that he meant that I jumped out the farthest, and that also he did not see what happened to me after that.

Despite the fact it was poor quality because it was an older flip phone. But you can still clearly see how close it was. I never figured out what it hit however.

I'm a gymnast of about 29 years, I still practice at 35 yro and yes it has save me from some horrendous falls. I used to skateboard in my teens and 20s I also did Parkour/freerunning, I have 12 years of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and 15 years of muay thai training. Gymnastics has opened me up to many sports and I tend to be good at all of them. Flexibility and spacial awareness are helpful in all sports and Gymnastics helps people learn those abilities. I have been coaching full time for 18 years at the same gym. It is an amazing sport and teaching children to use there bodies in ways that aren't common is quite exhilarating. I've coached both boys and girls competition teams and also can fought on long island ny.

This video didnt need commentary furthermore, you understand a car being hit by lightning does nothing to the passengers right? Lucky or not it wouldnt matter

When I was about 10 yo. I and my cousin were playing in my grandparent's barn, in the hayloft. We were swinging out over the manure pile on a rope in the hay loft. Our grandfather saw us and he came and said, boys you do know that rope isn't attached to anything, right? Then he showed us. We were so freaked out. We were incredibly lucky.

my lucky story happened when i was very young. i was like, 3 years old when this happened. i was on a piano bench and started rolling around on it. the adults were in another room, so there was no supervision. then i fell off the piano bench and split my chin open. the adults heard in time and took me to the hospital. I was extremely lucky to not die of blood loss there, and if the adults hadn't noticed, i would have not survived. so thats my story. child vs. death risk of a piano bench.

I was once very lucky to have my brother in the passenger seat when I was driving. Normally I'm a competent driver, but I once had a lapse in concentration when I was about to turn right in Tesco. If I had done I likely would've smashed head on into an oncoming car, but my brother quickly noticed what I was doing and quickly told me to stop, and I did.

In 1975, I was on my way to check on the Cotton harvest when my 260Z emerged from trees into the path of a Spray plane that was doing a 180 to commence spraying. The landing wheel was 4 inches over the top of the 260Z's hood as we ntersected at 60 mph. When I rang the pilot later that evening to congratulate him on the "near miss" He said - "What near miss?" - He had not even been aware that he was so close to a nasty accident.

4:48 this is not a motorcycle. In the Netherlands, where this took place, a motorcycle belongs on the street. He was in the bicycle lane, thus makes it a scooter. We call this either a snorscooter (max 25 km/h allowed) or bromscooter (max 45 km/h allowed). Seeing he's wearing a helmet, he has a bromscooter, which by my knowledge does belong on the streets and not the bicycle lane, however some snorscooter users do wear helmets, as where only bromscooter users are required to wear a helmet and a snorscooter user does not. This will change in 2023 though). Anyways, this is not a motorcycle. It could be a motorscooter, but the one in this situation has a takeaway (food service) case on its back, which is never a motorscooter.

Probably my luckiest story, I work on a wedding venue that surrounded by cow fields. Obviously working in such close proximity to cows means that on occasion we have to help round them up back into their fields. The only time this past year that a cow got loose was on a wedding day. Thankfully the cow, a young 1000 lb bull, was down the road a way and not very close to the venue. But we still had to go after it so it wouldn’t be hit by any cars. For some reason I, the 110 lb groundskeeper spearheaded the round up. And for some reason, the half dozen people who were supposed to catch the cow with me just sorta trailed behind me and didn’t try to help. So how did I single handedly get the cow ten times the size of me? It involved a lot of running. And keep in mind that we had no horses or ropes to catch the cow with. We have to heard it. I had to cut it off to keep it from running farther away from the field. At this point it started tearing its head and taking a few steps forward, probably readying to charge. But half the battle of catching a cow is psychological. So tiny me had to intimidate the cow. I stood tall (at freaking 5’2) hold my arms out and take a step towards the cow. And the bull stopped in its tracks. Then ran away towards the forest. And if it got into the forest we would need a more experienced search party to find it. So I manage to cut it off again. I have it trapped between me, a thicket, and the field it can out of. It has the option to go back the way it came, or back through the fence. It went back into its field. Idk why the fence was turned off because it’s supposed to be an electric fence, but it was not on. And that was the end of it. Tiny women won vs bull

Nice. So much easier if you have a trained herding dog, or at least a 4 wheeler to get around the bull.
