Brings back memories of working on bikes with my dad when I raced during the 80's-90s. "I'll help do anything to the bike, but we're not splitting that damn case." - Dad

What I like to do when I have to apply heat around new crank seals is coat the seal with a touch of grease to protect it.

Great videos. I personally love working on things like this but find I dont have the time to ride if I did all of the repairs myself. I also trust other peoples ability to do it right more than myself sometimes.

Cool vids dude. I also buy old thrashed bikes and spend way too much making them look awesome. I'm 67 and retired, it gives me something to do during the winter. I always change the color scheme, I did a 1980 KX125 with a green frame, it turned out sharp.

I hope you tested if the transmission shifts and doesn't bind after you got the cases back together, and it looks like you could do with a new clutch basket too while it's apart, there's some nasty looking grooves in it

I hope you went over that transmission great and put the washer in the correct order or it will be trashed the first time you ride it i had a 98 kx and put a brand new trans in it and misplaced 1 washer and ruined 4th and 5th gear soon as i rode it. Id also replace the finial drive seal they are know to leak pretty bad. And make sure you clean the power valve great and check the aluminum gears out really good cause they are know to bend and break also. And when your reassembaling the power valve there are dots to line most of it up just work the power valve by hand and make sure its opening and closing right and both sides are in sync. If you do that stuff and put a 165 main jet in it and a set of boysen rad valve reeds and play with the timing a little that bike will run like a scolded dog. I got abunch of goodies for them id sell and ship to..

You can flush the bearings out with brake cleaner after you wash the cases. It drys 'em out real quick. Just remember to relubricate them afterwards.
