Good Day to You My Friend. Another great video on reloading. Thanks for info on Redding & lee expanders. Pulling cartridges loaded with powder coated bullets is especially difficult. After a few days PC bullets literally "glue" themselves to the inner case walls. I broke 2 inertia hammers before it occurred to Me to break this seal by running the loaded round back up into the seating die. Just adjust the seater a tiny bit farther down. About a 16th of an inch will do.

Please consider doing this same video for 459 bushmaster. Factory bullets are VERY expensive that they have become cost prohibitive. Hornady, the highest price bullet provider for the 450 Bushmaster has taken to using large rifle primers in it's cases making the reloading of their store bought ammo a major problem. I've taken to using a 300 gr.. lead poly coated, gas checked bullet with some decent results, but I'd like to know what you and others come up with. (I use the hammer style bullet puller)

@@tacticalrabbit308 What is the result you're expecting Robert? Jacketed bullets are designed to preform within a set velocity threshold. Sending them slower could result is acceptable accuracy but poor preformance on game. We know this and at today's costs if powder and primers. Re creating the wheel to prove things we know isn't cost effective. With a cast I am In 100% control by adjusting alloy and velocity.

@cw2a what do you think the velocity difference would be between the 22” and 20” inch barrels? Using standard ammo. My Grandfather always told me the longer the barrel you get better velocity and performance out of your round. But I wonder how much you’re really loosing with two inches.
@cw2a
22 күн бұрын
@@SouthTexasRed Yes sir generally speaking and its completely Cartridge defendant. Meaning high pressure "magnum types gain most and low pressure cartridges gain least. 25-45 ish fps per inch. This 400 wont gain much probably 25-30 fps per inch. But besides the velocity a little longer barrel looks better to my eye. 16" in a bolt rifle looks dumpy short. I feel 20" is about right. I have a 3.75" Linear Comp on my 450 and to my eye it looks nicely balanced.

@@onebadjack1313 Good morning! I do and have used cast HP on deer /game. But its not needed as the alloy you use can be determined by the velocity resulting is good expansion from solid bullets. Also solids properly alloyed tend to fragment far less and penetrate deeper. Last year I shot a large late season leaned out 180# buck. I hit him quartering to me the bullet was my cast 300g MP HP impact velocity was 1750 ish. Bullet penetrated 7-8" and the nose was gone. Some part, exited high on off shoulder. Not a large hole, the Buck dropped in his tracks. Only rolled on his side in slow motion. I feel the alloy was brittle but don't have a bullet to examine. I did find pieces around the Bullet path. IMHO, a good Meplat on a heavy (er) bullet cast in a proper alloy is a superior large game projectile.
