We headed up to Mount Buffalo National Park for the day as there had been 40cm of snowfall in the past 48 hours and we were keen to see it.
We had a 4WD but due to the recent snowfall all vehicles were required to carry chains just in case. So we hire snow chains from a nearby ski hire shop which cost us $26 for the day.
The view was stunning driving up to the top and we stopped a few times for lookouts and waterfalls along the way.
We got to the Mount Buffalo Chalet and it was so beautiful to see covered in snow. There was also way more snow than we expected. We admired the views from The Gorge and Bent's Lookout out over the Alpine National Park with views of Mount Bogong, Mount Hotham, Mount Feathertop and more.
Then we continued on to Dingo Dell where the cafe is and has a small slope that kids were tobogganing on. Nicole made a snowman just so that she could kick it and then we made snow angels.
We then headed up to Cresta Valley, hoping we might be able to get up to The Horn however the road was closed due to the snow.
On the way down we stopped in at Lake Catani and it was beautiful to see in the snow.
Highly recommend a day trip here in the snow and is great for families and children too.
