My sub just doesn’t clip when I crank up the gain, or the bass boost. It just gets louder and makes the car vibrate more😂

Test with a distortion detector, it is hard to hear clipping with a subwoofer but you will burn the coil if you turn the gain too high

What’s the difference between a normal 40 Hz test tone and -5 Db?
@brianbarajas2948
2 жыл бұрын
@@mjl6425 0db sets your subs a bit lower than usual to have headroom for bass boosted music and such. -5db is still kinda safe for that but you would use this if you are more often than not using music apps or listening to radio/CDs. It's at your own risk, even 0db wont save you from clipping but it is the safest route

I’m trying to use a 40 dollar oscilloscope that nearly everyone has said will at least get you somewhere near clipping, but I can’t figure this damn thing out. I finally got it to do the big waves but the thing never showed any signs of clipping. The waves were FLYING a million miles an hour and I figured okay maybe I’ll still be able to see when it clips and after turning the gain all the way up, I never saw it. So I turned the whole thing back down and I’m annoyed cuz every step of the way has been a problem

Buy a Dd-1 distortion detector, you can not get cheap tools and expect good results

You just need to slow it down. There's time option in mili seconds.

Thought someone might say that I listen very close to the sound and bass besides I listen to a lot of 70s 80s music-10db makes it sound a lil better
