@loissimmons6558

Yes it is. But it probably is a Hollywood fictionalization. From everything I remember reading and every interview I've heard, Jackie let it eat him up somewhat inside in smoldering silence. But he responded to it competitively on the field and released his frustrations away from the ballpark. He didn't take it out on Rachel. But that was where he felt safe to express his frustrations when he felt he couldn't take it any more and wanted to quit during those first three seasons (one in Montreal and two with Brooklyn) when Rickey wanted him to restrain himself somewhat when it came to retaliation. Unlike the actor they chose, Jackie had a somewhat higher-pitched shrill voice that could be heard easily above the crowd noise, When the wraps were taken off, he would give back insults to the opposing players with the best of them and also started arguing calls with the umpires (and some of them were thought to be racist, too, in the first couple of years of his playing for Montreal and Brooklyn). But until then, it was generally Rachel, not Rickey, who was the one who knew how to let Jackie get it out of his system until he was ready to go back to the ballpark the next day.

Jackie is just about at his lowest as he collapses in the tunnel, and Branch emerges from the darkness, picks him up, turns him around and literally points at the direction he has to travel, to drag all of us along with him, into the light. There’s no record of this happening. It is probably a fictionalized scene. But awesome acting by Chadwick. RIP man.

"You are the medicine Jack" This line hit me straight to the heart... What people have to suffer to cure others from rasism or nationalism... To hate somebody just because he or she is not your colour of the skin is the most dumbest, below the level of orangutan idea ever... I cant describe with words how stupid is this, that some people like to shit on somebody just because he or she is not white, black, yellow, red, purple, green... Who THE FUCK cares.... No matter what you look like or what language you are speaking all it matters to me is that you have a heart and that you are man of your words and a trully trustworthy guy who will offer me help if i was in trouble. I can have so many white friends speaking my language but if i cant trust them or if i feel like an idiot sometimes... Their colour of the skin and their language doesnt really mean nothing to me.... Rasists are IDIOTS, PERIOD!!!

He paved the way for so many after him, knowing that he would have to sit on the grenades thrown from both friend and foe every single day and lick his wounds all by himself in order to perform. Resilience in its pure form.

Its a shame that Chadwick wasnt nominated for an Academy award for Best Actor in this movie. Jackie Robinson and the Black Panther were the best roles that Jackie gave us before his departure.

I also rank Marshall in that matter. I won’t forget when he was announced to debut in Captain America Civil War as BP, remembering this movie gave me confidence he would be a great addition to the Marvel family. And so he did make one!

I know people will remember him for the Portal scene in Endgame, but this movie in my opinion was his best role, then 21 Bridges would follow. Chadwick is giving it his all to portray someone who actually existed and had a deep impact before the Civil Rights movement. You can see the pain and anguish in this scene, that Chadwick had to only imagine what Robinson was actually thinking.

I thought 21 Bridges was all right. But if there is one of his movies that deserves as much love as 42, it’s Marshall
