The bass at the climax of Exit Music for a Film is absolutely monstrous. Also love the baseline in Nude. So simple but totally makes the song. Also the Airbag bass that comes in and out. Pablo Honeys biggest sin is that it often can feel super generic, but it's really not that massive a problem. It's fun. It's a nice little alt rock album and in a few ways it was unique for the time. It is easy for it to feel like a terrible album considering what comes after in their career though.

Never have I seen a better video that encapsulates why The Smile can never, ever replace Radiohead. Jonny and Thom are a MAJOR part, but without Colin, Ed, and Phill, it’s not the same (and to be clear, I don’t think it was ever supposed to be). Colin is so, so good. I never actually realized how high he often played on the neck. It makes sense considering Radiohead have had a heavy, low-bass kind of sound. A lot of their stuff is lighter, more… nuanced.
