Techniques can vary from one backyard mechanic to the next, but you got the new pin, washer, and litter pin in and opened up in pretty quick time (IMO 😉). That’s a smart, good job GP. I try to buy a spare or two of those type parts as you never know when you’ll drop one and …. oops, the earth swallowed it up! Thanks for the video 👍.

Thanks for sharing, that was fun to watch you struggle! Lol! So I don't feel like I am not the only one there! In a similar situation where I was struggling big time and most likely letting go some curse words she could hear from afar, she came nearby and suggested it would be much simpler if I turned the whole tractor upside down... And then she went away... Lol! Have a nice weekend!

Gord, I use your idea about extra parts for he tractor. I have an old milk crate I keep all my extra and future Kubota parts in so I can find them. It's too easy to file them away someplace else then when you need them you can't find them. I have a Kubota crate for the tractor and a Honda crate for the mower. Less frustration that way.

good job. Now I'll know who to call for work on my tractor...lol. One thing I do when dropping small parts is use a magnet to find the part. A floor sweep magnet is great for bigger areas but even those little magnet trays sold at Princess Auto can be used for that purpose. Of course, there will be the time when you drop a part and cant find it because it jammed itself somewhere in between other parts on the tractor

Hello GP, Have really enjoyed all your videos going back to the B2601. I was quite inspired. I purchased a B2601 and have 10 whole hours on it now. A question I have is do either of your rear remotes on the LX2610 have the Float feature? Cheers to you and Happy Holidays coming up.
@GPOutdoors
2 жыл бұрын
Good morning Shish and thanks so much for watching. Congrats on the new tractor- I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. The answer is yes - I have two remotes. The first set is ( sorry for my lack of correct terminology) is "normal" - it has no detent ( Float). The second remote has a Detent to allow for float. It was a little more money, I believe, but I understand that some equipment will require continuous flow to operate so I got one remote normal, and one with the detent ( float). All the best with your B2601!

GP - anytime you need to slide a tight tube over something like that simply drop it in a cup of water just out of the kettle for a minute. It makes the plastic plyable and also expand a bit. It will tighten as it cools.

Great tip on putting down some towels in case you drop the pin or washers. FYI: I killed the transmission on my B2650...I was mowing in tall grass and did not see a metal stake in the ground. Thankfully, I have the KTAC insurance which covers the $6,000 repair bill. It has taken about a month for parts, and I should have my tractor back next week. I hope not to repeat this again and will be more mindful not only what is in front of me, but also what is behind me when mowing or plowing. It's the little things that break the machine.
@GPOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
Morning Jean - happy to hear you had the KTAC - whew! Just a bit of a wait unfortunately. Such a big backlog in the industry right now - when I picked up the parts at the dealer, I couldn't believe how empty the lot was. Glad you are ok Jean - have a good weekend!

I was watching a different channel called Chicanic I believe. She repairs small engines, mowers and such. She got into a mower deck that was burning through belts. Turns out one of the spindles had siezed and shirt was wrapped around the other one. Always make sure you're looking ahead to make sure there's noting in your track. That's an expensive repair, good foresight on having that insured.

@@GPOutdoors The way it was shown in the video, you had to reach to the far side of the linkage pin to spread out the ends of the cotter pin. I was asking why you didn't rotate the pin 180 degrees so the cotter pin ends were facing you and thus a little easier to access.
