Love Me
performed by The Rainbows
recorded circa 1953-54
released as Ronnie 202, circa 1976
"Wayne Stierle gave it to me. He bought it from Claiborne years ago. These Rainbows are the D.C. group."
Apparently, this 78 acetate demo was recorded for Lillian Claiborne. I know "Love Me" was also one of the numbers they recorded for Bobby Robinson but, didn't release and I assume is lost. I still wonder if this is the exact same Rainbows on Red Robin or The Serenaders, who had a 1953 release on Gem as "The Rainbows". Henry "Shorty" Womble (first tenor) and Frank "Jake" Hardy (bass) were members of both groups. What say you?
We do know that it ended up in Wayne Stierle's possession and was released by Ronnie Italiano, via his Ronnie label.
