I finally acquire one of the most memorable fans from my childhood, a National industrial ceiling fan! It's been one of my favorite ceiling fans since I little, and never changed to the present! I usually called them "Matsushita" because their design are based on Matsushita. National/Panasonic F-_0A1 and KDK WZ_Q are also part of Matsushita due to they have a similar design to this fan. I've seen a lot of these Matsushita fans when I was very little, especially this National. In my kindergarten school, there are two of the 56" versions of this fan. Even my relatives used to have both 48" and 56" versions in their old house, and so my cousins used to have these in their houses as well. The rest are found in public places. They were quite common back in the day. As the time going, newer fans take their jobs, and starts to be rare. I've found the replaced ones are broken, but I believe these fans are actually built-to-last. Very reliable. They have skeleton motors which make them very powerful. However, the ones I've ever found mostly had failing capacitors due to they don't go too fast. I've ever made a video of the 56" ones (you can find them on my channel if you want to), and they don’t go fast as the ones with a fresh capacitor. Once the bad capacitor is replaced, I believe they still had an opportunity to spinning fast again. And although they've slowed down, they still capable of moving a lot of air. That's how reliable they are. I liked how the speed regulator was designed, and another thing which I like is the knob was veerryy smooth to turn, and it sounded satisfying too! The regulator was transformer-based, that's the only downside with these fans in my opinion. But at least they're much more reliable than the transformer-based regulators which belongs to CMC, and some other cheap industrial fans (such as older GMC and its brothers) which get hot more quickly, and compared to this National's regulator, they are much hotter once the transformer's been hot.
I bought this fan in secondhand condition, but surprisingly it almost looks like in new condition! It's got minor rust, yellowing parts, none of the logos are fading which makes this fan doesn't look like an aged fan! So I think this is one of my secondhanded fans that don't need a big restoration project! The only downside is that two of the blades were previously a bit out of alignment, and they've been straightened. I had to use my CMC's downrod because the original downrod was a bit long (shown at 2:12), and I don't want to cut it. Due to my CMC's downrod has a different white (mainly it has ever been repainted before), it makes the appearance between the downrod and the fan itself looks mottled. And the diameter for the CMC's downrod was a little bit too wide for the National, hence why the fan was a bit swinging, but it's not a big deal overall. It has a skeleton motor (as I've said before) which makes it very powerful, and generates a lot of air, mainly when it's on high speed. The capacitor on this fan is still fresh, which is why the rotation was very fast! But because this fan was installed in a house, we don't really need to run it on full speed all the time.
I actually liked the KDK version of this fan more (the WZ48/56Q) which is also a part of my childhood memories, and I've planned to get one of these as well. But unfortunately, they were extremely rare, and to find one to be acquired is a big struggle. Hence, I decided to grab this one without too much hesitation, mainly because the 48" versions are not as common as the 56" ones.
