Glad you are posting the full interview. This gentlemen is very good at articulating his hip issues. I have a lot to do until the end of the year thanks to this. Thank you.

I find surfing to be very difficult with cam hip impingement. (Walking through the water against the waves, standing up on the board from a plank position, falling in odd leg positions)

I have a tendon tear that is high grade and the pain became bad, very bad. I am 68 and even had to use a cane. But this week it calmed down. Not sure why.. Considering Ten Ex which is a fairly new and non invasive procedure. The reviews of it were great. Just met the doctor today. Very interesting guy with a different perspective and training. I have not read much, Matt, about high grade tendon tears in the abductor tendon - the gluteus medius and minimus tendons. Maybe it’s there but I can’t find it. Your thoughts?

So what if you have NO cartridge left in the hip socket and it’s bone on bone? Are you saying NOT to get a hip replacement?

Matt’s thoughts and strategies are outstanding and clearly so helpful too many. But I also know many people who had very successful hip replacements and were back on the move very quickly, as in within one to tow weeks. Hip replacements are one of the surgeries that is the most successfully proven and very rote. But make sure you have a good surgeon and talk to others who used that person and who have had it done.
