Talk about a perfectly tuned motor. You may find one as good but not better

What headers are you using? I have Hedman 48948's that bolted up perfectly to my old 396 (1966 Chevelle SS) but am upgrading to a Blueprint 496 with the .3" raised exhaust ports.

JACKSchannel1100 Unless that's a roller cam they didn't follow break in protocol for a flat tappet cam. Destroyed the cam lobes. Need to keep the rpms up so the cam gets oil.

Nice video. Engine sounds complete. But 600 h.p. seems very low to me. Thats less power than a smallblock LS with a cam and headers? Was it dyno tested? Maybe it makes more.

Just because you don't know how to set the preliminary timing on a fresh build with gas in the carb, doesn't mean the rest of us don't. 🤷♂😂

@David Owen good one, is that why it doesn't sound like a cold start? Carbed engines rarely sound good and run that smooth on a cold start up. Ahhh, the beauty of videos, you can make anything seem legit.

@@dynodaze5824 So fuel in the float bowls with carbs set properly and timing close to adjusted prior to firing a new engine is difficult for you. That's actually the correct way to do it. No one should be endlessly spinning a new engine over without all of that set. I've never had a new build not fire like this, so maybe it's just you. Ambient temp is also a thing. I'm in Florida and even leaned out settings don't need a choke. All my carbed vehicles fire and idle with zero hesitation. But okay, whatever you say.
