This was the best reaction I have seen. I as an older Chiefs fan felt your pain. We waited 50 years for our time to come. But more about you: you are the example of a true fan. Level headed, yet totally invested. Emotional, yet rational. Invested, yet objective. I relate on every level. Purdy played a great game. The clown comments made about him are way off base. You guys have a winner at QB. At first I expected to see this big overblown rant about the refs, your team being cheated, blah, blah, blah. What we always hear. But no. After your extended silence, and almost tearing up, you delivered a heartfelt expression of your feelings. Nice to know there are other fans who can see both sides. Much respect to you!

A lot of breaks went our way. One I haven't heard much about was the 57 yard FG where the snap was high and Tommy Townsend had to pull it out of the sky, which made Butker have to pause a split-second, which meant he couldn't get as much leg into it, which meant he kicked more of a line-drive kick. If you look at the replay, the ball split a couple of 9ers defenders with their hands up. So many things in this game could have gone the other way. Glad the Chiefs escaped with the W. May the odds be in your favor next season....unless we meet in the SB again.

Watching this was absolutely heartbreaking. I'll say this for myself: when the Chiefs got absolutely destroyed by Tampa Bay in the super bowl a few years ago, I avoided anything that would expose me to the aftermath for weeks. I didn't watch the draft, I didn't even watch preseason games. I just wanted to pretend it never happened 😅. The thing that could redeem this game, though (I think), is that it was so incredibly close and decided by an aggregate of *so many* tiny victories by both teams. For instance, you mentioned how the 9ers' defense were just selling out every play and, man, are you ever right about that. And it was absolutely effective for almost 3 entire quarters of that game. But one thing I haven't seen mentioned is how that extreme aggression was ultimately turned from their greatest strength to a fatal flaw when it mattered most. The two most important defensive snaps for the 9ers in OT were the 4th and 1 play and the TD (i think most people would agree with that, anyway). Those two plays were almost identical concepts; it's a zone read, where Mahomes is reading Bosa to determine whether he's going to crash down on the back or contain/rush upfield. While I'm sure it's Bosa's job to take the back, no matter what, he comes screaming down on him like lightning fired out of cannon using rocket fuel. Because he's selling out SO hard, it makes that read the easiest thing in the world and much quicker than it would ordinarily be. After he makes that read, the only thing left is to negotiate the pass/keep option on the right. On the 4th and 1 play, Kelce is peeling off to the flat and he takes the coverage with him, so Mahomes keeps and runs for a big gain. On the TD, Hardman is doing that corn dog, pre-snap whip motion to eventually get to the flat, too, but the coverage hesitates inside, so it's a wide open TD. What I'm getting at is that there were like a hundred of these little chess moves, and the 9ers won damn near as many of them as the Chiefs did. It was an absolutely brilliant game played by both teams, and I would like to think that may make it more bearable over time.

Hey bro, I don't know you and I just happend to come accross this video and started watching it and something you showed reminded me of how devastating a loss like this is for a TRUE fan. I know exactly how you felt by the way you looked in the camera and said nothing, I had the same look, the same feeling, the same hopes crushed again and again my ENTIRE fan life. Year after year after year after year my soul has been crushed and quite frankly there were times I honestly thought I might just pick another team to be a fan of. Seriously, my entire life of being a fan SUCKED!!. During the regular season, I held my head high but as soon as the playoffs came, = crushed soul. The reason I am telling you this is because I've learned one valuable lesson that until 2018 I didn't understand about the great game of football, and that is a simple truth; if you are a fan of the NFL, you will not know the metamorphosis of becoming a winning fan actually does to ruin the absolute best times in football. I mean what winning can do is make you feel bad at times, more like a little guilty maybe....I don't thinkk I can properly portray to you what I am feeling, Once you experience the SB win, you become a little bit more thankful IF you know how to lose. If you cannot loose good, a SB win will kill you. I can see you obviously know how to loose with class and character, some years I didn't. I got bitter and hateful, I've expressed how I'd like to see Brady die in a house fire - how sick is that? I've lost by a qb that became a wr that ran out the back of the end zone to come back in and catch a TD pass, no review yet in place so I got to lose the playoff game to Kordell Stewart and see the illegal play over and over on replay, but no official replay was in place so I had to eat that shit. The Steelers ate my soul 4 times I can remember, then Peyton Manning and the Colts, then the broncos, lost to the colts one year we were up 31-7 If i remember right, went to the store for beer in the third quarter and come back to the tie fg by the colts and later winning fg, we lost to Mariota throwing a td pass to himslef bro!, Brady and those fkn Pats....I still hate brady. If you havn't figured it out yet I am a KC CHIEFS fan, and I have nothing but respect for you as a person and as a fan to a hell of a good team. You are not going to have to go down without ever winning the big game. SF is one of the pillars of NFL history and absolutely gonna win more SB's. It's in your guys DNA as a football franchise. I promise you something bro, losing to KC will only make you harder to beat and easier to win because it makes you stronger. We can't win every single year, and when we don't win, I can almost gurantee SF will win. It's inevitable, it's fate, it's been written. Can you go 50 years without a SB win??? KC did, and I was a part of that misery, but now I almost feel bad for winning as much as we do, but what makes it all better is when I see fans like you, and it reminds me how briefly the win lasts and how easy it is to go back to the losses that crushed me. If we didn't loose to brady and the bucs to put things in perspective for me, I couldn't appreciate winning in 22, and 23. God bless you man, I hope this helped, I know I shouldn't care, but we share something that costs blood and tears and if you listen, the football gods will show you it only hurts a little while, just as the big win lasts for even less. Hang in there man, you are the right kind of fan this sport, this world, NEEDS. Good Luck -Sincerely A Chiefs Fan

Interesting... as a Chiefs fan im a little taken aback by your initial statement. I think you said "I knew that to win this game we would need to be perfect." It made me realize that in the last few years i haven't felt like that. We absolutely face teams that out match us on paper that we should lose against. In those situations, i think "if we're going to win this game we need to be clutch in the big moments, not let the game get away from us, and hang with the opponent until we can capitalize on their mistakes." It's a very different sentiment and i think it's because the Chiefs never play perfect games. We always make a few brutal mistakes, or a lot of baby mistakes. Something always goes wrong. We fumble in the red zone, we drop a big pass, we give up a big penalty right after a big sack. It's never perfect. But if we're still in the game and Patrick has the ball at the end, i know we're going to win.

Congratulations, a reasonable fan, that's rare. I am a Chiefs fan, been one since they moved to KC(1963) The Chiefs were as good as any team in football from 1966-1971 It wasn't until 2018, that the Chiefs had such a team again. So, what I do, and it's my advice, I enjoy every game, because now, the Chiefs always have a chance.' The Chiefs might win, the Chiefs might lose, but, they always have a chance. What really hurts, is to go into every season, year after year after year and every game, with no chance. Enjoy the success, the 49'ers are an excellent team, and have a good shot not only next year, but the year after, enjoy that, anything beyond that, is just icing on the cake.

And to be honest, it was more that Shanahan got out coached. And firing Wilks by the way is LAME! I thought he called a good game. If anyone should be fired, it's Shanahan in this Chiefs fan's opinion. Your team is stacked man. They hung in there with the Chiefs. But, that Mahomes mojo? It's a real thing. He is just SO mentally unflappable, mentally tough. And I saw it on the 49ers faces when Moody kicked that FG leaving the Chiefs what like 1:53 or something? Didn't score a touchdown and left to much time on the clock, I could see it on the 49ers faces, they knew what was going to happen.

It’s clear Mahomes has grabbed the coveted ‘goat’ baton from T. Brady early on and hasn’t bobbled or fumbled it. Look at the bright side, your Niner team will have more cap space(due to Purdy’s cheap contract) for 2-3 more years, and you’re in the NFC and won’t have to face J. Allen, Burroughs or Lamar Jackson in the playoffs. So you’ll have a decent chance for silver or bronze (not gold).

Only God knows your mind in your heart it’s true do you remember what the owner said I think a year ago two years ago he says I don’t want banners I want trophies this is what he said no I’m hearing a different story people are saying should we get rid of Kyle or the owner will fire Kyle that’s what people are saying they’re gonna fire Kyle what they said because their friends, Kyle and the ownerabout money it’s about power. It’s about friendship it shouldn’t be that way it’s about like he said the owner is about winning trophies now he came back it up. That’s what I’m saying.😊

The 49ers lost 3 Super Bowls in 5 years. They are not good enough to win a Super Bowl under Shanahan.

Well whiners after 30 years now still without a super bowl. What a shame. The only difference between the niners and a particular division rival. Is they made 3 super bowl appearances since 1995 and actually finished it. Niners are 0-3 in the super bowl in the 21st century. Better luck next year

The 49ers are a good team the 49ers had a chance to win. It was a good game that you said I don’t have nothing to say about the Kansas City Chiefs but they were holding their fish never called them OK all right everybody has their opinion and I respect that my friend I really do respect your opinion I have a different opinionOK😊😊😊

On the last play the chiefs had an ineligible man blocking downfield. It would have been a 10 second run off and the 49ers win. But you know the refs wanted kc to win.

Some of the 49ers didn't know the overtime rules....SF coaches asleep at the wheel,

That’s not how the overtime rules work. If the clock ran out, it would just move to the next ‘quarter’ of overtime. The Chiefs get to finish their possession no matter what

Your statement is HYPOCRITICAL as the clock doesn't RUN OUT, it goes to another quarter....nice of you to point out that YOUR COACH, TEAM and EVEN FANS don't know the OT rules. You can't make their DELUSIONAL THINKING UP FOLKS ☝️
