How about a model instead :) : amzn.to/2BPp1aE A great book on MR2 performance and tuning: amzn.to/31OlRyb AW11 Haynes: amzn.to/2Pqz0Ls A little explanation when it comes to the driving here. This was my first time on this mountain road, I chose it because of the scenery and I wasn't trying anything other than to have fun. The truck overtake was 100% safe, I don't have a death wish and never overtake unless I'm certain it's clear. The hairpin turn was a failure, but I put it in the video because it happened the way it did and I don't do fake content. What actually happened is that I was on throttle trying to maintain that little drift, but the wet patch at the exit of the hairpin (you can see it in the video too) caught me off guard and one wheel started spinning like crazy all of a sudden dragging me quickly into the other lane.

honestly the landscape is beautiful, i can see that road is very fun for drive, in my country the mr2 is very strange to find and sometimes the conditions of the car, it leaves too much to be desired but some owners have the car in exelent conditions, and others people use this car for drag races, honestly your mr2 is a beauty

Very cool! As usual, I love any and all MR2 content, thanks for being the best, D4A! This is the best format. Just, take 'er easy pardner! I rewatched the truck pass again and again and yeah, I guess you could tell there was no-one in front of it. And i'm sure everyone - yourself included - had a laugh at the hairpin drift into overcorrection into lane excursion. Still! It's your civic duty to supply me with MR2 content, not yeet it off the mountain.

I have always liked the MR2. One of my best friends bought one new years ago. It was a fun car to drive and ride in. About 10 years ago, I bought a Mazda Miata. It was my first true sports car. It was a decent balance between performance and costs. It sounded OK, especially in higher RPM's. My first car ever bought was a Chev 67 Chevelle SS 396 Factory High Performance. It sounded really good, especially with the headers. Today, I drive a 2008 Maserati GranTurismo. It is a true Italian High Performance Sports Car, with lots of Luxury too. It has back seats, trunk, leather, etc. Prior owner replaced exhaust system with high performance everything. It was loud and sounded good, pretty much straight pipes back to tips. But, it gave me a headache to drive. I put in a high performance axle back exhaust system that had small mufflers. It sounds great, and doesn't announce in advance to the Police that I am coming their way.

WOW......its still "Landmine" country there!!!! Mines buried everywhere from what I read. This road remind me of Western Pennsylvania USA, around our ski resorts! I lost it on a hairpin curve at 60mph, road covered with wet leaves at nite in a 1987 Corvette many, many years ago! It didn't end well....... I hope you see this message out of the millions of comments you get. I have a very pressing question if you can be kind enough for your expert opinion. I'm watching your "ENGINE BALANCE: ODD FIRE V6" which is an incredible teaching lesson. I have been researching the PRV V6 & theoretical torsional vibration & possible performance R&D. Can the PRV simply be balanced like you state how the Alpha Busso's front crank pulley & flywheel is balanced????? Thanks so much for all the education you've given to the world! Regards, Chris USA
@d4a
Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. I don't know what you read but it is not landmine country, there are very few places left with mines and it's very hard to reach those. Any split pit v6 can be balanced with offset weight pulleys and flywheels like the Busso. Thanks for watching and for your words of support.
@chrispompano

It was referenced in Wikipedia 10yrs ago for Jahornia around the resort in the forests, unless its been cleaned up by now. Did you mean to say split "pin"? Was that Busso odd-fire or even-fire? Thanks for the replies. Chris

@TheCabillaud94
5 жыл бұрын
Be careful out there, public roads ain't race tracks ! BMW not feeling too well after that hairpin. Anyway, I think you're getting there with the microphone setup. Sounds way better than the first time. Still lacks a bit of deepness i think, maybe get it closer, or higher volume for the engine ? Or work on the road and air noise the microphone is getting. On your drive, especially the hairpin: just go full apex mode. Get as far from it in the beginning, and get as tight as possible, then out again. Getting the rear end loose is useless apart from show, with this much traction (dry road/good tires), it's slowing you down a lot. Give it just enough to have the appropriate weight transfer, in case the rear is light.
