Hi! If the building which the birds died in was relatively dry, there's a chance that the birds could have been mummified! I understand this also doesn't make sense of the lineup, but still, some people find birds mummified in attic spaces and they have their feathers still. Given the birds are sat against a glass window in what appears to be an abandoned building- it could serve a similar purpose to a glass topped solar oven, theoretically! Regardless of who placed them, or the flowers there, it would be a reasonable explanation for why they're seemingly preserved so well.. but that's just my theory !

This is my thoughts too. If the AC is on and keeping the place cool that might slow decomp? I'm not sure but I've found old, mummified birds in old buildings that look just like that.

this is also my theory, birds' bodies underneath all their feathers are relatively small and dry out quickly. The feathers don't decompose quickly, so they stay intact and make the bird look like there's no decomp.

I had the same thought. They also look more like they were placed there. Possible they flew into the glass and broke their necks, and someone arranged them and put the flowers there. Looks like a memorial or offering.

Okay I’m not sure if anyone will even read this but here goes: That last story you shared about the SW VHS actually freaked me out because something similar happened to me and my dad when I was a kid. Long story short me and dad watched a lot of movies during my childhood. If it wasn’t torrents (yeah we’re a family of pirates) it was tapes we either rented or bought at some place. With this specific instance, I can’t have been older than 7, I remember that I had picked out a copy of Treasure Planet on tape. This was in Stockholm, Sweden around ’06, btw. When we sat down to watch it we quickly noticed that the tape would skip and rewind around the trailers before the movie even started. The manner in which this happened was strange and I remember getting a little creeped out by how this distorted any voice and kind of morphed faces in brief moments. When the movie did start it went by smoothlie for a while until the VHS-player completely lost it and started fast forwarding the movie until the very end of the end credits. After the final Disney logo disappeared and the screen was all black a loud laugh started to play over it. Then a crudely photoshopped pic of the main character in Treasure Planet appears, with just the eyes comically enlarged and mouth warped into a twisted half-smile. Then the tape ended and we sat in completely quiet with the static for what felt like a minute or two. I was not raised in a religious nor supersticious home but we did NOT try to rewind or ever touch that tape ever again. Dad returned it the next day. We still talk about this today sometimes and both wish we would have tried to find out what caused this but I’m afraid this’ll always be a mystery. Thank’s for reading this if you made it this far! First time typing this memory out like this, the whole thing really did rattle both me and dad so I’m glad I got to share it lol

the proboscis luke story weirdly enough reminds me of a reocurring nightmare i used to have as a really young child. It would start off with me walking around a peanuts looking cartoony suburban neighbourhood, i think some of the actual peanuts characters were there too, and kid me would always feel off or uneasy about the place, as if it was just a fake mechanical projection like something out of fallout or bioshock. As soon as i would realize something was off, the whole area would suddenly shatter away like glass revealing a giant spherical room that looked like something straight out of splatterhouse or doom, composed completely of flesh and demonic faces, bones, organs, etc, and in the middle would be a gigantic monster with long tendril hands that i can best describe looking like a mix between the lickers from resident evil and an anthropomorphic mosasaurus. It would rash back and forth roaring and i believe laughing evilly with it's arms spread out in a very "tv wrestler introduction" way, and i'd slide down the walls of the sphere demon room into it and then the dream would end, with toddler me waking up in complete hysterics. I to this date have no idea what caused the dream to happen, maybe my late father played a game on his xbox 360 like gears of war or something that really messed me up as a kid, but i dont remember anything like that which is weird, and i to this day have no clue how kid me's mind was capable of dreaming up something so genuinely badass and intricate, like it feels almost too hard and too over the top to be real on top of it iirc happening multiple times, but it just like. was and it'd probably explain my love for campy body horror nowadays LMFAO

It's clear someone went out of their way to set up a arrangement of this stuff.. Idk it's nothing crazy but it's definitely not normal for things to be arranged like that & for them to not decay. Even if things did mummify, they would have a specific look to them. The birds feathers would look fine but the body would shrink up & dry up. The flowers would harden up, dry out, fall apart, change color. *That event in China is insane.. That was a ton of huge explosions. (The content you make is so good. I really think the style you do would be great for covering more unsolved or insane real life true crime, unsolved cases, etc. Keep up the great work)

As you can imagine I tried to convince him to take his medicine as cutting your self of suddenly can't be good but in his state and at the end of the day it's his choice and I couldn't do anything about it. But faster forward about a year and a half later I get a message from him saying my name as if he hadn't seen me for for years, he asked me where have I been and I have been up too. I told him I never left and always been with him. He asked ne what year was it and told him dude it's 2018 and he kept telling me that's impossible...what happened. I said everything OK? He told me he can't remember the previous year. As you can imagine I chose to comfort him and that everything is alright. We went to see a doctor amd they explained that when he went of the medication suddenly it caused a hormone imbalance and that his mind must of barely reached a fine balance now...its was so bizarre...to this day I share pictures of us from 2017 and he still can't recall them...oddly enough were partners now and he's doing better now with regular medication and proper treatments but I still wished I did more that year to help him that day

More or less the same spot every time, and usually end up sitting there for a week or two without much decomposition before vanishing without a trace (I go to this Walgreens pretty often so I can say confidently that they're just there one day and gone the next). I always assumed it was something to do with the small local feral cat population and then the employees or landscapers or something clean up the birds after a little while, but this video made me think that this may be an odd thing to be used to. Proboscis Luke made me laugh so hard especially how seriously you read it. Thank you for that lmao
For the first one I wanna point out that if the area is dry or cold the birds won't seem to decompose at all. I used to work in an area in Wyoming where we'd see carcasses on the job site all the time, usually from hawks leaving the bits they don't like. There was a dead pigeon at the bottom of one of my towers that had only the heart and eyes missing which stayed there for months almost entirely unchanged. While brutal, it's all easy enough to explain since the hawks usually only went for the organs, and eyes are one of the first parts of the body to decay naturally. Feathers on the other hand, decay extremely slow. Something I noticed with alot of other carcasses was that birds might look perfectly fine on one side, but when you flip them over they're completely dessicated.
@luminolmortis5927
4 ай бұрын
i was going to say this. in a very hot humid area, a small carcass would be gone in days. right now in the cool midwest spring, i've been driving by a pigeon lying on the sidewalk for the past several weeks thats' looked unchanced basically just because it's not too hot. you're also very right about the feathers going slowly; if there are few large scavengers to rip the body apart and it's cool and dry the decomp of a bird can look pretty delayed.

The birds are a bit spooky on first blush but the explanation I can think of is kind of wholesome in some way. As other commenters mentioned it’s possible for the birds to have been mummified due to the conditions of the building. With that in mind I think a homeless person or squatter in the building must have found them and set up a small memorial for them. Maybe he placed them by the window so they could “see” the sky? Also given the roses, it’s possible the person brings something whenever he returns there after a long time.

Lots of people with MDD and other mental illnesses with severe depression or mania as symptoms also experience this but usually for shorter periods of weeks or months, or in different forms like simply feeling extremely disconnected and like nothing is actually real like you’re just watching tv or playing a video game. I put the flowers there, guys. It was only fitting given the circumstances. I didn't mean to confuse anyone. It was simply a nice gesture for the dumpster chickens that had just passed away

The pigeon one could've just been someone into taxidermy who wanted practice at the hobby but didn't need extra pigeons around the house, so broke into a building and left them there along with some fake gas station roses to fuck with people.

When I was only 4 years old, my dad died, and then I was S.A.'d. My point is that after that, I don't remember anything about my life until I was 8 years old. I literally remember coming back into reality in school. I was sitting next to my 2 best friends that I didn't even know. It was so weird. It's the only thing that makes any sense to me about losing that much time. I think a child would be way more sensitive to that kind of thing and agree that his story is likely b.s.

Birds are mummified, also when I find dead animals I move them to a more presentable and gentle position. I also place any flowers I can find next to them. Sorry for any fear or confusion to anyone who has seen my appreciation to the dead ❤

My guess on the first image would be taxidermy. It’s possible some deranged person just decided to leave their attempts at preserving pigeons somewhere in an abandoned mall. The arrangement definitely looks man-made, and it explains the state

Good God man... The skipping 6 years one sounds like I could have posted it - sounds like things I actually _have_ posted... Hard drugs for me too. Started drugs around 19 and quit at 29 - I didn't forget _everything_ but the vast majority of stuff from my teens and 20's. Just caught my attention because I've thought a lot about it and this story sounds very familiar to me - especially the aches and pains. The Mars spiders - Ziggy Stardust.

I’ve had something similar to the first story happen at my college. I saw some comments mentioning the air being dry can affect the rate of decomposition, but it was late August outside in Appalachia and the bird still didnt show any signs of decomp

the dude with the 6 year memory lapse. I believe him. I cannot remember anything from the last 8 months. the other day I had a conversation with my brother and I asked him how I bought the playstation portal. I couldn't remember how I bought it. I can't remember anything since November . I got into a 3 car pileup and ever since then everything ive done is fuzzy . I was actually in the hospital in march for two weeks and I remember watching KZitem videos and engaging in things that I am told over and over that I hallucinated. it feels like I actually did those things. did I just die and start in another plain of existence ?

Honestly, not going to get mad about you about your opinions on the Last Jedi. Of the sequels, that one is my favorite, and I think Luke is actually very in character if you take into account a lot of the outside material like the comics and the books. He spent however many years trying to rebuild the jedi, an order that he didn't know anything about, only to have every apprentice and student fall to the dark side or leave. That's going to demoralize him and I can see where he would become jaded by the time the Last Jedi comes about. Also, I'm going to say it because no one else will, Luke isn't a jedi. He can use the force and wield a lightsaber, but he's not a JEDI. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Not sure what source that is that you're showing that a "small bird decomposes into an unrecognizable blob in about a day", but that's bs. I had quite a few birds dying and we usually buried them a day later. No signs of decomposition other than the smell. Could also be that the birds in the picture had their decomposition covered by the feathers which usually don't decompose. There's also a timelapse video on KZitem showing the decomposition of a pigeon and you can't really see anything for the first 3 days.
