What an _adorably_ cute rail line!! I love the way it snuggles between the houses, and the route is lined with all sorts of greenery and flowers! Makes you feel like you're travelling through a fantasy location. I thoroughly enjoyed this video - Japan never ceases to amaze and delight me!! Thank you _so much_ for taking the time to record and share this journey with us! 😊☺

What a marvellous little railway! Very scenic views of the beach, the ocean, the on-road tram section, Enoshima island, even some nice well tended gardens. I last rode it in late 2019 and this great video brings back memories.

Is just amazing how the Japanese can be organized. Here in Brazil, a train line like that would be an awesome option to move through our litoral, but our railways are almost dead. Only Santos and São Vicente has a kind of transportation like that and it's range is extremely short, is a shame. I'd really love to visit Japan one day!

I can see many countries through youtube but only Japan is a place that I can't forget through videos like this! Japan has become a benchmark (my own opinion) to compare cleanliness, classical, modern and natural arrangement than any modern concrete city in China.

At 20:58, how is it possible for the "train diversion/ rail shifts" to be in the position it is in? Does it move through the pressure of the train's wheels against the tracks?
@albertvanderzee1202
11 ай бұрын
Hi. You can also see this at 6:55. These switches are provided with a spring system in the ‘tongues’ (or ‘points’) which enables it to shift by force of the wheels without causing any damage or chances of derailment. So every time the wheels have passed, the switch tongues flap back in position. This is not all that common on railway lines, but with streetcar lines it is.

Very cool. And the best thing about this video is there isn't some clown with a digital camera next to the videographer with his fake shutter sound clattering away uselessly ruining the beautiful stack talk of the locomotives.
