Amazing video! Looks like typical Hilo weather. Thank you for sharing.

Really liked seeing Mauna Kea all snow covered toward the top. My first trip to Hawaii (Honolulu) was during the winter, and the islands were without TV because the TV towers atop Haleakala on Maui were affected by an ice storm at that high elevation. That was in the early 70s.

The Max windows are really great. Probably the best windows on any airliner right now.

I like Hilo airport because it is not crowded and less stressful. Take off and landings are nice in Hilo. Love Hilo, Hamakua Coast of Hawaii Island.

I do too. It's too bad they lost their only mainland flight though. I wish you could fly to and from ITO from the mainland.

Hilo is one of my favorite places. Contrary to most people who don't live in Hawaii, I'd prefer to visit Hilo over any of the other larger Hawaiian cities. I love rainy weather though, so that helps a lot haha. I'm glad you enjoyed this one! Thanks for watching!

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!! Great views!! I was watching Mayday at 40,000 feet (1976) and then, I tuned into your video. In this movie, a cross country flight stops in SLC to pick up a prison convict, a murderer. Along with him is a US Marshall. The problem is he was very ill with a serious heart condition. While in the air, the US Marshall has a seizure and the convicted killer takes the opportunity by grabbing the Marshall's gun. Shots are fired during the skirmish and several people are wounded including one of the pilots. Then, the convict grabs a flight attendant, threatens to kill her, but the captain was able to whack this guy with a bag and have him tied up. But the plane has been damaged by the gunfire and the captain's task was to get this aircraft on the ground. So, WHY did they have a US Marshall with a serious medical condition escort this dangerous criminal on board the plane in the first place??????? Anyhow, another fine video on your part.

Never been to Hilo - your pilot must have been a military fighter pilot - quick takeoff and altitude gain. Tks!

Seems like most Southwest pilots are because they get up and out.

Hilo is one of my favorite places. It's also the wettest/rainiest city in the US. Fun fact for you haha. Thanks for watching my friend!

Yes, 100% haha. Always have been. I'd rather stay up late and work into the morning then sleep later then get up early and work in the morning.
