nana boxua5 ⛩️ is called 鳥居 in Japanese, which is pronounced 'torii' and literally means "birds' dwelling place". These gates are traditionally placed at the entrance to a Shinto shrine and often within the grounds of the shrine as well. So they signify the 'border' between the mundane human world and the sacred space. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Japanese language and culture while I plan my first visit there in the autumn, and I hope to go to Kyoto to see the Fushimi Inari Taisha which has hundreds of them almost forming a tunnel up the hillside. Greetings to Georgia from the UK! ❤️ Your English is so good that I am sure you will understand my reply 💮 I hope this answer will be helpful to you!

You don't just try; you succeed! 💮 (I found out that the 💮 emoji is used in Japan to mark an excellent piece of work.) And you are very welcome to the small amount of information I was pleased to pass on. 🌸
