Dzerzhinsky Prospekt is an avenue in the Moskovsky district of Minsk, crossing Minsk from the center to the south-west, one of 8 radial city highways directed to the city of Brest.
Filmed with DJI Osmo Action in 4K
It starts from Bogushevich Square and ends at the Minsk Ring Road.
The length of the Prospekt is about 7.8 km.
Named in honor of F.E.Dzerzhinsky in 1979, before that it was called st. Soviet Border Guards. In the late 1970s, the Prospekt was reconstructed for the first time. Until that moment, Sovetskih Pogranichnikov Street was a rather narrow and short street surrounded by buildings from the private sector. The first version of the highway was laid, connecting the streets of Klara Zetkin and Nemiga and going to the streets of Umanskaya and Gursky. The first reconstruction made it possible to launch the trolleybus already in 1980-1981.
From 2009 to 2014, the second reconstruction of the Prospekt was carried out, the carriageway was expanded to 8 lanes, two transport interchanges were erected, 8 underground pedestrian crossings were built, wide sidewalks were made, 4 metro stations were opened.
