One addition: Most computers will only utilize 50% CPU processing power when exporting using Premiere pro. If you click "Queue" instead and run Media Encoder, it will go much quicker because ME utilizes 100% CPU.

You mean on Mac? I heard that on PC it's the other way around.
@brandonbuckles826
3 жыл бұрын
@@adamkawecki6199 No, I mean on PC mainly. The first time I noticed it not running as fast as it should was on my PC. I have an AMD 5950X and noticed it was only utilizing 50% of the CPU in Task Manager. I looked up the issue online and found a forum where it was explained. I used Media Encoder the next time around and task manager showed it using 100% of the CPU and the render went significantly faster. I also have a MacBook Pro with an M1 chip, but couldn't really tell much difference in speed when using Premiere export or ME, so it may be a PC thing. I'm not really sure.

Choosing software encoding will force the CPU to do all the work, leaving your GPU idle. No idea why you would recommend this to anyone with a graphics card.
@OfficialTylerWhite
4 жыл бұрын
Software encoding uses your CPU and hardware encoding uses CPU and GPU when rendering. This means that hardware encoding should render faster but some video cards are not supported by hardware encoding. So you can use either one. I chose software encoding because it’s the option that people are going to have less issues with.

@OfficialTylerWhite

I use CBR 100 but in 2021 if you are going to use VBR 2 I would double the number that Premiere automatically recommends. For example when you select VBR 2 pass and the number is 40 change it to 80 and that will look good too.

@OfficialTylerWhite

Inside of Premiere when you export with the bitrate encoding of "CBR" you only have to input a target bitrate. "CBR" encoding doesn't ask for a maximum bitrate like "VBR, 1 pass" and "VBR, 2 pass" do. I hope this helps my friend!

I use h264 4k 80mbps in media encoder and secondly, what happens in the CBR section instead of setting it up to 100 i replace it for 900? Would it make a difference in quality or is it 100 the top quality? Thanks
@OfficialTylerWhite

Adobe Media Encoder is a program used to compress audio and/or video files. When exporting at 4K the highest CBR "Target Bitrate" is going to be 300. If you're uploading videos to KZitem I think exporting at 300 would be over the top. It really just depends on what you're going to do with the video and how much that platform is going to compress your video.

Tyler I set Perfomance to "Hardware Encoding" because with Software Encoding it takes 4x longer time to exporting in my computer. But the problem is that with "Hardware Encoding" and Bitrate Encoding set to CBR (100) the exported file has less bitrate, resulting in a very small file and smaller than the estimated file. This issue I didn't have in Adobe Premiere Pro 2018. Thanks.

Hardware Encoding can be a life saver it just all depends on what you’re doing to do with the final product. If uploading to KZitem I will usually sacrifice the file size and longer render time for the higher bit rate so that my quality isn’t as reduced when my video is uploaded to KZitem

Software encoding uses your CPU and hardware encoding uses CPU and GPU when rendering. This means that hardware encoding should render faster but some video cards are not supported by hardware encoding. So you can use either one. I chose software encoding because it’s the option that people are going to have fewer issues with. Levels support different resolutions, for example, HD is normally a low level 4. 4K is usually a low level 5, I found that 5.2 ensures your 4K video exports in high quality.
