Believe it or not, ICT is one of my home airports, and is actually the only airport I consider a home airport in my home state. That's right, I live in Kansas. I live near Joplin, Missouri, just on the Kansas side of the border. ICT is one of 6 airports that are within driving distance of my house. Those being in order of distance, JLN, SGF, XNA, TUL, MCI, and ICT. I don't fly out of ICT more often as both TUL and MCI are closer and generally have better prices. I try to fly out of ICT a couple time per year though.

I was hoping you had a video flying in or out of Wichita! I was scrolling through comments and I saw that you said you live in Kansas. I do too! I live in Hutchinson which is only about 45 minutes from Wichita if you didn’t already know. Everytime I fly, I fly out of Wichita. I actually flew from Wichita to Las Vegas too in June for my bday. Great video!

Thanks my friend. I’m glad you emoted this one. Yes, I do love in Kansas. Although, quite a ways from Hutchinson and Wichita though. I consider Wichita to be one of my home airports, although it’s typically last my last option. It’s about a 3 hour drive to ICT from my house. I live near Joplin Missouri, right across the state line. So I live in Kansas; but I’m about as far from Wichita as I can be haha.

@@sla31 I see. I started watching your videos a few months ago and have enjoyed them. I’m sure the answer to this question is obvious and I just haven’t noticed but how do you figure out the age of the aircrafts that you fly on? Every time I fly somewhere, I’m always curious about how old the plane is that I am on. I look on the app thing that the airlines have but it still doesn’t say the age of the plane.

I have a question. When an aircraft is simply shuttled to the boarding area for a flight...who is "driving" it? Someone besides a pilot ?

Assuming it’s not a tug pulling it, then yes, many maintenance techs are taxi trained to bring aircraft to the gates.

Great fly! In addition to TSA PreCheck that I metioned on my other comment, have you used Global Entry? It is used by 75 airports.
@sla31

No, I don't have Global Entry. Frankly, I never have felt the need. I've only had to wait more than 10 minute to get through customs and immigration once in all the years I've flown internationally. So, I've never felt that I needed it. Frankly, sometimes I've gotten through faster than people with Global entry because they have to stop at the kiosks when I don't haha.

@sla31
2 жыл бұрын
I would too. I loved making the time-lapses. The biggest issue though was that they performed horribly. Those of you who liked them, absolutely loved them. Everyone else though... Not so much. They got like 1/4th the views of any other type of video. And, even though I loved making them, I do have to bring in money to keep the channel alive. I don't make enough money to do all of this by myself. I heavily rely on the ad revenues from the videos to make sure I can continue to upload new content every day. So, the time-lapses just weren't brining in enough views to warrant them filling an upload slot. We'll see what happens. I still enjoy them a lot.

How tiring it must be to hear the safety info prior to taxi/takeoff over and over again. I want to hear the engine start, flaps deploy hydraulics etc., not put your oxygen mask on before a child LOL. Although cool to hear safety procedures in different languages. Cheers once again. Do you have a PayPal account for tips/donations?

So, I don't have a PayPal account for the channel, besides my personal account. What I use for the channel is Patreon. You can find my account here: www.patreon.com/sla31 Patreon is a crowd funding type site, that I use for people who want to help financially support the channel. Now, there isn't really an option to just donate a one time amount. Everything I have set up is for people to basically have a monthly subscription in return for extra perks. That said, there is no contract or minimum length of time you have to be a supporter to get the benefits. So, if you're really interested in helping with a tip of donation, I'd suggest looking though the options I have there. I have it set up at $2, $10, $25, and $50 per month. If you were looking to chip in like $10 then you'd be more than welcome to support for one month at the $10 level, and then cancel. I'd still get the $10 and you'd have access to all the Patreon exclusive posts for that month. Or, if you'd like to spread it out over a few months, you could do the $2 per month for 5 months, and still "tip" the $10 but have access to the exclusive content for 5 months. I found this was a better way to go about tips and donations than just PayPal. You get a little something extra in return. Thanks my friend! Hope that helps.
