Wow... great views along the way. How classic it is when you get to Western WA, you suddenly get greeted by a whole bunch of low clouds! Anyhow, very good view of Chukanut Drive. The Amtrak Mt. Baker International train goes along here and it's a VERY scenic stretch. I recommend going on this train one of the these days. There's no advantage speedwise at all, but there's a HUGE one in terms of beautiful scenery on the Seattle-Vancouver route. One evening, coming down from Vancouver back in the late 1990s, I watched a solar eclipse take place from the train while it was passing thru the Chukanut. Wow!! Good thing I had a waterside seat! I even took photos of this amazing event. Good view of the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry Terminal. This is where the AK Marine ferries leave from to go up to SE Alaska, ending in Skagway. This is actually a major transit center because you not only have the AK ferry, this is where the Amtrak train stops in Bellingham and also the Greyhound buses. There's also a transit center for the Whatcom Transit Authority buses, so you have all of the different modes of public transportation in one place. Nearby is Fairhaven, the historic section of Bellingham, with lots of fun places to eat and shop and also some art galleries. I recommend spending a few hours here and have lunch in one of the wonderful restaurants. They have a great bookstore there too. Good views of Bellingham and vicinity. If it has been clear, you would've had a spectacular view of Mt. Baker, which is indeed an honest-to-God volcano. Back in 1975, it showed warning signs that it could erupt and there were serious plans to evacuate Bellingham, but as it was, Baker decided to quiet down again and has been so ever since. I recommend visiting Mt. Baker and going up to Artist Point. I promise that you won't be one bit disappointed by the view. This and Hurricane Ridge over in the Olympics are the 2 most spectacular mountains views in the state of WA that you can get to by car. The University of Western WA in Bellingham (which you do see from the plane in your video) ties with UW-Seattle as the most beautiful college campus in the entire state, and I recommend paying a visit. They have a world-renowned mycology department here, easily the best in the US.

It's unfortunate it clouded over at the end. Probably the best scenery of the flight and that includes some really good scenery along the way. Bellingham is one of my favorite places to visit. I actually spent a full day in Bellingham on this trip before flying back to LAS. I went to Whatcom Falls Park, Fairhaven, Larrabee State Park, and other places that I enjoy visiting when in Bellingham. Bellingham, IMO, is very underrated and overshadowed by Seattle and Vancouver.

Jeans and Chuck Taylor Converse. A true classic! Did you have any turbulence going out of Vegas? About 3 weeks ago on Southwest 737-Max8. This was my maiden flight into LAS and as per usual (though I of course was unaware) we had quite the case of turbulence (for about 20-25 minutes making out approach into Harry Reid Intl.) My wife informed me, whose flown into LAS a few times that yes, this is indeed common, even in calm/clear conditions. Due to the mountains and winds which make their home up above "Sin City". For next time, I'm ready for the potential wobble, and leaning some 10k ft. above the surface. Great footage as always.

Great fly! Have you heard passenger from Indonesia to Australia was fined $2,664 Australian dollars ($1,870 US dollar) for not declaring his McMuffins that was found in the luggage? This is because Australia is prone to FMD (foot-and mouth disease) that is costly to farmers and Australia does not want that.
@sla31
2 жыл бұрын
I did hear that. I also heard of a woman fined the same for a half eaten subway sandwich she forgot was in her carry-on. I get why they're strict, but IMO, some common sense goes a long way, and the fines for people who clearly forgot they had something like that, is a bit excessive...

Although I believe some people do use Bellingham to get to Vancouver, IMO, Bellingham is an extremely beautiful city & underrated city with a lot of things to do. It's in a very beautiful part of the country, and with things like Whatcom Falls Park, the Fairhaven historic district, and Larrabee State Park, there are tons of things to do. In fact, on this trip, I actually stayed an extra night and rented a car. I spend a full day exploring the area again. I visited once before in like 2012. I love Bellingham. It's a great little city that offers a lot of the same natural experiences as Seattle and Vancouver, with 1/8th the number of people running around haha.

Well at least the flight attendant tried to make them laugh must have been a Karen flight he's from the old Southwest Airlines old school nobody laughs anymore I felt sorry for him respectfully, having been an early '80s born here I am reluctant and proud and eager to share that I am very thankful I grew up in a jet age with multiple librarys Airlines and different consistent equipment fleets you go to an international airport today all you see is 737s and air buses and a couple of dreamliners in a maybe if you're lucky a 767 or triple seven I'm 40 years old and I miss the good old days nowadays when I look at an international airport respectfully as big as McCarran Las Vegas it looks like a gigantic processing plant shipping cattle and it's very sad the younger kids are excited to see the airplanes into even step aboard one that's the magic of childhood but I got to grow up with dc-10's l-1011s dc9s Saab scania, forkkers ,il_yushins, yakolovs, classic Boeing's 727,747,737,757,767,777 all Mcdonnell Douglas md80s ,bac, Concorde, dornier, dehavilland, bombardier, beachcraft Embraer and now they're all retired because they're over 30+50 plus year plus years old...... I get the legacy carrier's had to disperse or merge all the airlines had to phase out the more costly burning Jets and they're running very new fuel efficient just like Alaska it's just it's a different feel back in the day you can go past TSA and go to a lounge and watch airplanes and eat an Italian or Chinese food and have a cigarette post 911 now it's a different world because of the violence terror and it's just depressing as hell one day there's going to be no more airplanes no one's going to be able to drive a car and the cities are going to turn into mega quad brick blockwar cities and no one's going to be able to get out because climate is going to be a major issue as well I fear for the grandchildren's of my generation..... I am fortunate and lucky to have grown up in the '80s and '90s everything still here but it's not the same it's been a great ride so far I called life I always wanted to go to Las Vegas I've flown over it a few times between Atlanta and Southern California but now when I think about it there's no need for me to ever go there it's just another place....... Overly priced and overrated
