Really see the fine details in the sail work . Love the little things in the sail like the little handle to help put the nose wires on.

The little handle actual opens a loop to hook the nose wires and than close it back to lock the whole thing

Something to consider is removing the battens from between the leading edges before you stand (roll) the glider on the basetube. That's a slick looking flying machine for sure!

Please make a breakdown video of Orbitor or Piuma especially wing tip folding and luft lines. I'll try your wing tip insertion, never seen that one yet. Also, put your glider on the kickstand, strap your battens around it and never place you battens on the ground again. Dirt kills batten pockets.

Urs, is this the latest product from Icaro2000? I hate the speed battens as a solution for flutter. Seems like my old LitespeedS is a faster set up than this; are some of these steps optional, like can the dive strut battens and dive struts be installed during breakdown? What is the extra line on the nose-wire and does it stay outside like that?

I'll make set up and break down of every Icaro2000 glider, I'll be very slow cause of the lock down 😢

@@zayamichael yes, this is the latest Laminar. About the speed battens they are optional (you need it only over 100kph). About the extra line (you mean the white rope right?), it's a safety cord, it avoid the nose wires installation when the crossbar is not fixed. It also keep the wings opened in case of faulty crossbar hooking in by the pilot.

The tip bend method is unique. Most pilots I see stand in front of the Leading edge and slide the cam cap along the wand while holding the leading edge.
@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, many pilots use that technique but I don't like it that much cause the end of the tip wand suffer a little due to the friction with the metal part.

@@zayamichael it's ok every way as long as it works. I'm understanding now that this topic needs a video itself... The secret it's to avoid using muscles to bend the tip wand and focusing on pulling the sail.

So the king-post was replaced with cables being placed and tensioned inside the envelope. Are the little rods near the wingtips there to reduce vibrations and therefore reduce wear? Beautiful glider.

@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding

2 things. The first is to help the glider to remain in the thermal when only one wing is hit by ascending air ( one tip is lifted by the thermal and the other one is forced down a bit by the wire, so tips and sail act a little like ailerons ). Second thing, the system is also connected with the VG, so the more I pull the VG, the lower go the tips.
