Btw, looking at your receipt, your total could have paid for a year and a half of college tuition in the Philippines back in the 80s! How the peso has devalued since. 😞

You're absolutely correct, it's really sad to think about the devaluation of the peso over the years.we always hear stories from elders how 1 peso can buy a lot back then

@@AlphaLibz I'm dating myself here, but I distinctly remember (when I was very young) the exchange rate of one peso to the dollar in the 70s at one point was two pesos to a dollar. Then, by the time we had left, it was 18 pesos to a dollar, I believe.

Back in the day, that very location was the go-to restaurant for families after any school programs or shows. But, they only served chicken. Good to see that they have since expanded their menu to include other popular, favorite Filipino dishes, as well as desserts. Do they still provide customers with warm, wet, hand towels to use after every meal? So customers don't leave with sticky, oily hands (mostly from eating fried chicken).

Hello Rrubio! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and for sharing your memories at Max's! Many of us have cherished moments at this restaurant. However, when we visited, wet towels were not provided. But that would be nice if they still did 😊

@@AlphaLibz Yeah, I didn't think the warm, wet hand towels were still part of their value-added customer experience...probably went away over time due to cost-cutting and the introduction of easily available "wet ones" hand wipes that anyone can buy anywhere these days - assuming they're available there. My family moved to the States in my teens, and I haven't been back since. We're talking late 70s, early 80s. Lots have changed evidently. 🙂
