The beauty of these festivals is how the traditions unite the different generations and show us with joy that sharing activities is paramount in a city or community.

A VERY FAMOUS FESTIVAL - The Gion Matsuri (Gion Festival) is a month-long festival that takes place in Kyoto in July each year. The name comes from the neighborhood of Gion, which is home to some of the more traditional parts of Kyoto-including the geisha quarter. Although there are processions throughout the month, the festival's highlights are the parades known as Yoneyama days.

By the summer festival that "the Naritasan Gion festival" to pray "Dainichi Buddha" done 奉安 by Okunoin which is Buddha as the prime noumenon of the principal idol Acala of the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple for the request for rich harvest, all the people Toyosuke's raku ware, place accomplishment and the town around the Naritasan are united as for the Narita Gion Festival, and is performed, there is the history for about 300 years. Thanks @Rambalac

I was in Narita on Sunday 9/18. They had another festival going thru the main street. Is there a name for the cart that is pulled by the people thru the streets? And what is being chanted to them? Something like "pull" except in Japanese?

Imagine there are tens of thousands of people all celebrating together. A lot of them are using plastic cups for their drinks... and it's still clean!!! Unthinkable in my country. I mean Germany is considered to be fairly clean compared to other nations but Japan puts us massively to shame in that regard.
