I have been blessed to have visited nearly 40 of the 50 states,as well as traveled all over BC Canada chasing steam trains.... ridden on and chased/videoed steam railroads in many of the states, but my dad and I never made it to North or South Dakota. The mountains, forests and terrain of SD are beautiful!!! It looks a lot like CO, and parts of BC.

I LOVED steam trains ever since I was 2-6 years old and I will never forget those days of being obsessed with these machines and I kinda miss being little now that I'm a lot older.

As as Brit now living in Australia, my passion was always and still is steam and no surprise British steam, however I love these "Little" America locos like the 2 6 6 2 saddle tank which by British standards is HUGE. I would love to watch as the ground shook under my feet as 4014 thundered by, and probably my favourite American loco the Pennsy k4

Interesting video, I sure like to visit this place myself one day. Not only to see the mallets but also see Mount Rushmore too.

Beautiful footage! I'm curious as to why they call it the 1880 Train, when the equipment is clearly from a much later period than that.

Because the tracks were placed here in 1880 and much of the scenery has remained the same

Number 110 and 108 are sister engines that were originally built for the Weyerhaeuser Timber company in 1928 (110) and 1926 (108). Both were purchased from the Nevada State RR museum. 110 has been running since the spring of 2001, and 108 had been completely restored in the spring of 2020.

The 108 was purchased from the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, Washington. Which is in the description, by the way
