Thank you for the time invested you are much appreciated. I would have you do work for me in a heart beat! The last shop gaffed me $100.00 each for transmission synchronizes in my old 1986.5 Nission 4x4, I rebuilt it a few years later x 2 over the years. Lots of time on steep grades up in the mountains and the gear oil didn't lube the forward bearings well on steep grades in that design! 300,000 miles total. The entire 4 speed manual transmission kit was not $200.00 in those days, with all the bearings races syncros, etc. He is still in business here in town, father in law had his rebuilt 3/4 ton pickup automatic trans. fail twice, he sold it to someone after the third time out, telling them what they might expect and to contact him if it failed prematurely a third time. Not all are helpful and honest, wishing you the best. Tom

What size and length bolt did you use to put the check ball back in?

Man I just tried your method and that 3/8 tap ruined the capsule hole. So what do I do now ?

drill it out so the checkball comes out (to prevent any future problems with the old checkball), then just use the sonnax capsule

The bolt I have is cut off a little less than 2 inches long. You really need to look in through where the servo is on the side to make sure the small windows in the ball and capsule can be fully seen. To make it work the best you have to have it in the right spot.

@@ltstransmissionhowto5158 might be a silly question, but when you flipped the trans over....was that a valve body check ball? Or a ball from the capsule that dropped? What was it that fell out when u rolled it quick? Thanx for the help by the way

That’s the ball out of the ball and capsule. If you get it out it’s a whole lot easier to get the capsule out. If you peck a 1/4 inch punch in it the ball should come out.
