I use Simoco on 4m and it is really old, two digit display but it does 20watts and just works well. Up here some of the WOTA/SOTA guys use 4m so it gets a fair bit of use. That is a nice looking radio. I was very impressed with the micronode you built for me and I always promote you as the "go to" guy for them. Your build quality is excellent.

Looks very interesting be good to hear it on the band ... only wish we had more activity on 4M locally... thank you for your support with the use of the microHUB you built ... just getting a little more freedom to have a play ... keep the content coming it’s great 👍

I’ve been a massive fan of commercial gear on the ham bands ever since I got my license about 25 years ago and I have to say the tait tm8200 is probably the best commercial radio I’ve ever had for 2m vhf. I have 2 of them and absolutely love them. I also noted you mentioned you have a few mics for them, I’m looking for a couple. If you fancy getting some beer tokens for them feel free to drop me a pm.

I think I've got most of the PMR Commercial radios made, I got the 4m bug bad a few years ago and have converted/reprogrammed many radios but I never did buy a Tait radio. I have used a Philips FM1000 for years But a few weeks ago I defected to an Anytone. A friend of mine used to install low band radios and was convinced it would be a better than the 2m band but after using it for years I told him it wouldn't so I gave him a Maxon I'd done the conversion on and 12db Sinad it was doing 0.16uV which was better than my FM1000 at 0.3uV anyway at about 7 miles apart and fairly level terrain and our aerials up at about 30 foot we where so much down in the noise floor so I moved to the anytone for the 60W it does and he went onto the 50W version as he's a 2E0. So now we can talk but it's not great we have to turn all the LED lights off as they emit so much noise it can wipe our signals out. On a different note your videos have been fundamental to getting people onto All-star/Hubnet, there will always be idiots who steal others ideas it will happen with or without you making videos the only people who'll loose out are those among the radio community who are not as good as yourself at working this stuff out so will never be able to build a radio node without your help.

Tait are very good sets, I have Pye & Philips on 4M, 2M & 70CMs, the same they blow away conventional amateur manufacturers offerings.

Hi - I have a TS8235 which has been converted for the amateur bands. I do, however, wish to bypass filters to introduce external audio and processing. I read in one of the service manuals that one needs to ‘tap’ T13. Can you kindly explain how to achieve this? Many thanks. Stephen

I’m sorry if mentioned in the video- got lost in all the tech 😂 is there a way to reset them to factory or delete the channels? Without the computer software?

Thanks Peter, great video. Do you know where I can get the programming software please? I have a TM8200 and I would like to remove the channels that are in it and re-purpose it. I am sure I can make a lead from guides on line. Many thanks for you informative video.
