Wow! That's a type of memory I have seen or heard about for over 2 decades. Interesting. They make cool keyrings after they stop working, I used few of them like that. 🤣

im a computer and tech noob, this seems really interesting but what are these used for? I was like wow this is so cool looking, then you broke them apart and I was like, ooooooh one slab is more than one of these? really cool tho

@@Andy251153 that's how most electonics is made. Building in panel is more efficient. Those are early PC RAM modules, also used on some sound cards for wavetable sound banks

How did you find the chips? Is this new old stock? I've been looking around for some chips to use on a coupke of 72 pin simms, but even the larger capacity chips seem unavailable.

@@n.stephan9848 New old stock, through business contacts. Got some samples while ordering £4K worth of material for work. You can't just order several and they're really not cost effective if you get 100. 1000 minimum to get a good price per piece

Time to reconsider plan B then, maybe there's a larger chip out there of which I can use half or quarter of the capacity. Although I seem to recall there being different voltage logic levels involved.
