Great vid. If I may elaborate on some of your tips only bc I love this stuff... Step one - Learn to shoot it. (there's good reason this vid starts w the jumper) Step two - Seriously, learn to shoot it. Hardly any of what follows is even relevant if you can't shoot. Step three - Learn to pump fake. Step four - Learn to pass to your teammate, who is now open bc the guy guarding him is now helping the guy you just burned. Step five - Learn to hit the mid-range (jump shot - see steps 1 and 2). Make em pay if they don't help Step six - Learn to move without the ball. Utilizing a screen properly negates your diminutive size Step seven - Learn how to run the pick and roll with a capable big man. Nothing flashy, just use the screen and take what the D gives you Step eight - get in great running condition. The more you run, the easier all of the above becomes I'll add one this vid doesn't talk about - Learn to be in the right position on D, and hold your own. Don't back down when D-ing up or blocking out a bigger player. Move your feet, get low, and fight back. You have rights as a defender - use them. Take good fouls, and be a pain. You'll have already annoyed them on the other end by knockin down Js, this will send them over the edge, and now you're in their head Notice how none of these have anything to do with your handles. It's a fallacy that you have to have all these dribble moves to be a good small player. Even just hitting a couple shots changes the complexion of the game. The D has to respect you, which opens driving lanes, creates space for big men to make post moves w/o your guy doubling down, and if they do, see Step Six, then Steps One and Two. Creating your own shot comes last IMO. If you do all this stuff well, you'll seriously annoy bigger players

As a smaller player you need to learn to finish w/both hands and develop a float game. A good big won't let you always get in the paint (floaters/runners) and if you do you will need dexterity with your lay's
@CoachFrikki
2 жыл бұрын
For some players (Kyrie/Curry/Kobe/Lebron) developing both hands really helps out. While others (Tony Parker, Rondo, IT) make things work w/ almost always their strong hand. Each player gotta find out what works best for them.
