Hi, Paul - love the introduction. Spot on! Outstanding tutorial, and you provided a ton of valuable insight and info! The painting turned out beautiful and the cabin looks *awesome!* You are one of the best teachers on all of You Tube, and your paintings are some of the most impressive of them all. If I can reach just a small fraction of your ability in my painting journey, I'll be completely satisfied with my efforts and work. That said, thank you so much for all you do, sir - it is very much appreciated! Have a great afternoon and upcoming week ahead. Catch ya on next week's painting! Cheers, 😎🥂 🎨🖼🧽🏅 _(PS: __31:27__ - there he is, was wondering if he would appear, haha!)_ 🐱

Hi Steve - thanks for the kind words and follow-up on the video. I think it's important for folks to know that art is for everyone. It's not exclusively for talented or highly educated people. One day I'll dig out my old paintings and see how much I've changed. I think a few laughs to be had. Maybe a video for Christmas! Have a great week too and I'll be working on a new painting video soon. Best wishes as always - Paul 😃

Hi Paul, thanks for all your videos, they are very helpful for a novice like me. Have you ever considered to do one video explaining how to clean the brushes? I'm trying different brushes and different ways for cleaning but all my brushes are frayed after the first use :(
@PaulRansonArt
14 күн бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your suggestion, and I'll consider adding a segment in a future video on how to clean brushes. Keeping them in good shape is so important as is the quality. Some brushes are not quite as well made as others and tend to lose their shape more quickly. Always buy the best brushes you can afford. - Happy Painting - Paul 😃😎

Hi Paul! I love the softness in the back and mid ground with the textures of the cabin. Teaching us how to pre plan, paying attention to perspective and planning composition really helps us to have a more relaxed and confident experience. I can see how prep work pays off! I am improving on patience.. stepping back and resting my mind and the painting. The time you take here to explain, share your experiences, and show color magic (the way colors combine is amazing!) is so appreciated! One of my current paintings was bothering me. Now I see why! My sky was too intense in color for a sunrise. I need to soften it like yours here. I’m going back to delicately soften it. I really made a pickle though out of my fence in my foreground. It’s disproportionate to the other points of interest. It takes over! I’m thinking to add some vines to it to “quiet him down”. I may just also let it be. 👍 Thanks again so much for having us over for a great visit. I’m so grateful for your help! Have a fantastic week! 🤗🤗🤗🤩🖌️🎨 P.S. “desire is more powerful than all the talent in the world “ is sooo true. I had a tear sneak up- because for 40 years all I could think of when I wanted to paint was what someone told me- that painting isn’t one of my talents.. but my desire and encouragement to jump in got my foot in the door… you have no idea how much I appreciate hearing this! 🥲🥰😎

Hi Stephanie - well another phrase that hit home with me was 'Don't let someone else's opinion become your reality' I've often pushed back against what I thought was badly considered advice and always relied upon my own savvy for the way to go. So you keep having fun and making your journey the one you want it to be. Happy painting, fixing and repainting - your chum - Paul 😄😍😎

This week I watched all your past waterfall videos. I LOVE them! I have decided that one day I will be a prolific painter of waterfalls! 😄 I've watched this week's video once and really appreciated all your help on avoiding common painting mistakes! I'm going to watch it again and take notes. It's really fun when you teach us great tips at the same time as showing us how to paint beautiful landscapes! I'm rethinking my previously held plan to never paint a barn... After watching this tutorial, I think I will try, following along with you! And who knows, barns may end up being my new favorite thing! Have a great week! And, best wishes from Utah!

Oh! I meant to ask you, In which video did you teach us how to modify the fan brush? 😁 Apparently, I missed writing this tip down in my notes! Thanks for all your help! And also! I do think you're a very talented (as well as experienced!) artist, and also a gifted teacher! I'm so grateful you share all your years of experience with us each week! But I can see that each time we pick up a brush and start a new painting, we begin a new adventure, and in that way, we are always beginners, always learning and growing. I think 'always learning' is the perfect perspective to keep when following any dream! And when I think of painting in this way, it makes me feel much better about being a beginner!!😄

Hi Erica - no problem. Here's the link to the video - kzitem.info/news/bejne/sHel24ljcYxkaGk - Thank you also for the kind words. Ok dude. Knowing you don’t have training and the like makes you my hero. Seriously. How long have you been doing art then? I loved art in high school but I stopped because of the art history component. With a life of regrets, that’s my biggest one. I equated it with my English class. They both asked stupid questions like, “What does this paragraph mean in the context to the chapter or book”. My answer was always what it meant to me which was inevitably wrong. They wanted the classical meaning. Without doing research, how would I know the classical meaning and why is that relevant? I don’t care what some stuffed shirt thinks about some random chapter or why the artist used the colour red in the painting. Unless they asked the artist in question, shut the hell up. Unfortunately the art history component was worth more each subsequent grade level. 70% by the time I hit grade 12. That’s nuts. Could have been creating for 30+ years now if I just sucked it up and stopped being so stubborn and just learned to roll with it.

Hi Ron. thanks for your vote of confidence but hero status? I'm not sure a cape suits me🤣 But, I've always had a thing for art even though I wasn't encouraged to do it at school. That was for the 'talented kids', not me. I'm very much a person who studies things more than an accademic. I think this, if anything has given me a slight edge as I'm clearly a visual learner. If I can see it I can do it myself. Keep on making art is my mantra - Happy Painting - Paul 😃😎

@PaulRansonArt
12 күн бұрын
Yes Vikkie. For parts like the barn/cabin and the midground, I wanted more of the grey to show through. I only used the liquid white for areas I wanted to be brighter or to blend. Just another example of how to use the materials to your advantage. And sometimes painting in layers means you don't have to do everything in one go. Paul 😃😎😍
