Hey guys! Darianna here ☺️ please be sure to listen with headphones and also turn off KZitem’s audio stabilization. Saturation plugins can be subtle so unless you’re listening correctly you ain’t gunna hear nada😬🫶 hope you like it!

Realizing possibly everything I’ve learned to hear for mixing is tainted from that damn stable audio feature. Thanks for mentioning this again cause apparently I didn’t remember to turn it off after your last video. 🤦🏼♂️

First of all, thanks for the great video. Allow me one small criticism: activating the plugins right when the choir kicks in was IMHO not the best choice. I know it's the most musical decision to do it at that point, but for demonstration purposes there's a lot of new sound information, and it's harder to hear which part of it is the plugin. Anyway, good video. I'm surely going to test most of these.

@@johndescy7904 totally fair call! I was originally going to be putting the whole thing repeating a second time but found it was a little long to watch so I cut it up in a way that made musical sense. But totally right and thanks so much for the input 😊

Didn't know about the auto stabilization feature on KZitem! All aside, these as great plugins. ChowTape and IVGI or anything from Klanghelm is solid

There's also Fresh Air that I was shown via a course with 343 Studio in NYC. Also I saw you can technically target high end and add saturation

After many years of battling with programs and under powered computers I have something stable and reliable. I have been getting clean recordings with bitwig and fl studio...these free pluggins are just what I need to add the warmth and clarity for my recordings. Thanks so much!!!

also the SGA 1566 is awesome, one of my favorite saturators. i love how gnarly it sounds when you push it harder.

Some other free recommendations, Szechuan Saturator by Coda Labs, Prisma by Unplug Red, and Le Phonk by Xynth Audio. All are free and work so well. Le Phonk is more a distortion plugin but can basically work like saturation.

@@RecordingArtsCanada The "tub of gravy" mode on le phonk is really cool for plucks and basses. It adds a very interesting sound. Also keep in mind that the mix knob is only routed to the distortion waveform module and does not effect the bottom two modules.

i tried IVGI and for the life of me i cannot understand what and how it actually does but i just can't hear it. it's so weird. it's supposed to do something right? i don't know what i'm doing wrong. even in your demo i can barely hear the difference and i'm not even sure i'm not imagining it. it's so weird. the other plugins are great and the first two i'm definitely getting, never heard of them before and i love what they do to the sound. thank you! subscribed!

My guess is that since it's a mastering saturation, it's meant to be subtle. I'm sure you can drive it hard though.

@@CarlitoProductions yeh maybe that's the case. i should check it with plugin doctor, maybe it would give me more insight. have you tried it? do you use it as a mastering saturator? what is your experience with it?
@CarlitoProductions
Ай бұрын
@@xradical89xYeah plugin doctor could work or if you're on Ableton OspreyInstrumsents has a max for live device. But since IVGI is more for subtle changes, you can use something like Saturator or a thied part plugin to give more creative distortion. I use a mix of Fabfilter Ssturn and others, but even using a tube compressor or something like that will add harmonics to the signal
