Notion formula is a bit different than how it works with Excel. Excel works as a spreadsheet but Notion is based off of databases and database entries. Sometimes the calculations are not as flexible as in Excel. We'll cover formulas more in depth in a future video! Stay tuned!

Thanks for the video. I have a query. Is there any formula that can create different points for the different tasks in the same column. Example: I want to give the task one 5 points but only 2 points to task two. And if I check the box of task 1 and task 2 to both it shows total points which is 7.

Thank you for watching! If you'd like to set up a points system and see them as a sum, what you might want to do is to use the "calculate" feature inside of filtered tables instead of formulas. Formulas typically calculate across one database entry. In your case, it sounds like you need to calculate across multiple entries (task 1, task 2, etc). If you have your tasks inside of a table, you can filter based on whether or not it is checked off, and then calculate total number of points! Hope this is helpful!
