Step number one "schedule your test 3-4 weeks in advance" Heads up.. You will have to manage this entirely yourself. The PSI testing website would not let me schedule a class more than 5-7 days in advance. You will have to actually commit to do it on a certain date, then actually schedule it from the website a bit less than a week before the date. At least his is what I clearly ran into when I tried to book a test one month in advance.

I just took the Private Pilot FAA exam and got a 98%. It is not about cramming the information in your head so that you can pass. I do not think people would want to fly with someone who earned 70% on their test and or flunked it and had to take it twice and then got a 73%. To learn the information and get a good score on the test, I did the following. First, I went to an in person ground school with required books and homework. The ground school required us to pass 3 practice tests. I only used the Kings online school and some other videos as supplementation as I tried the Kings on line school and I felt I was missing a lot of information and really was not understanding all of the information. The Kings School and or Sporty's ground school or other ground school is no substitute for class room training. There needs to be interaction and students need to ask questions in order to learn the material. I also used the Gleim test prep book and Sporty's practice exams along with a couple of Kings school practice exams. You need to study and study and study and did I say study a ton. There is no magic bullet. I also used some flash cards on my trouble spots. I did not cram for the test. On the way to the exam, I was playing rock music, felt confident, and showed up early and completed it in about an hour. Being a safe and competent pilot takes a lot of hard work.

Literally doesn’t matter if you get a 70 or a 100 most of the stuff has little to do with your actually skills in the plane
@kimberlywentworth9160

@@deeznuts6907 I find that I am using a lot of the stuff I learned in ground in the airplane. Now learning to fly the airplane is another bag of cats. Plus I think the FAA test filters out some of the people from flying. You have to be able to plan, look at the weather, have common sense, multitask, Math in your head, read the instruments, Fly the plane, communicate and the list goes on.

I disagree. You do not have to do an in-person ground. If it’s right for your “style or age” of learning, great-but many people have no issues with online format.

@@jamesjohnson6309I got an 85% and I studied primarily by cranking out the Sporty’s practice questions over and over again. I did like 40-60 random questions a day in the weeks leading up to my written exam and did a few practice tests as well and that pretty much prepares you for what you will be asked in the real exam. Once you are consistently getting like 80-90% on the practice exams, you’ll be ready for the real one.

Hi thanks for your question! From one article it looks like 99% of student pilots who study for a month in advance pass the written exam with an 87%. Not bad, I do highly recommend the app that you can see in another video, I break down how to use the app and what it contains in it. However, there are some things you're going to want to make sure you know how to do with your flight instructor such as calculate weight and balance and read charts. The app contains every question that would possibly be on the test.I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for the question! Yea, I think I was just referring to how the App with all of the questions and answers to FAA Test are on there, also in book format, but in my opinion I recommend the App over the book, just because it's more streamline, it offers more study methods, and it usually has better explanations. I made a video about the app if you're interested as well to help clarify a few things. But yea, the closest thing to a cheat sheet is the study app, and unfortunately during the test you are not allowed to have any notes with you or on your person. I hope that helps, if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Wishing you the best!

How do you prepare for the oral
@AmeliorateAviation
2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Definitely a couple of ways you can do it, what really helped me was asking some of my other aviation buddies to quiz me on the oral study guide book, its blue colored for the private and red for the instrument rating cover. That was honestly the most helpful, then a CFI did a mock check ride with me to see if there were any holes in my knowledge, which there were many Lol, but was able to go back through and review those topics that I missed. Again its not too bad, just be confident and review the things you've learned. If you're able to, ask a fellow aviation friend or CFI to spend like an hour or two and just quiz you over the oral exam guide book. Make sure you have your acronyms memorized as they will probably come up during the test. Again the DPE is there to help you get your license, you need just need to prove that. The other way is through watching Mock Checkrides on KZitem, there's this gold seal DPE who walks you through the whole process. Thanks for your question! Lol Hope that's helpful! Lol

@AmeliorateAviation
2 жыл бұрын
Oh that's interesting. Yea, what's really going to help you is knowing how the questions will be asked in format and in style so its still a good idea to review the test questions. Most likely you will encounter a question that you have studied on FAA test, it just might have a few different words in it, but the overall question will most likely sound very similar. But its always a good idea to review your ground knowledge, especially weather and regulations and airspace. Those will always be on the test. Hopefully that helps! Wishing you the best!
