I am using the Rode VideoMicro for my outdoor shootings and the Boya by M-1 lavalier,. They both provide me with a pretty good audio quality and I have never felt the need to get the Rode Videomic Pro plus or anything else...I would eve be afraid that I might be disappointed if I should spend 200 bucks on these microphones to realize that there actually isn't any noticeable difference from my current set up.... I mean, I am pretty happy with what I have.

I filmed my first video this week with the Rode Wireless Go, and attached the Purple Panda Lav mice to it. It works nicely, as the wireless unit would have caused my shirt to droop where it was clipped.

Thanks. I recorded one video with the Rode Go 2 so far, and found that through my camera it sounded great (even though I was in a room with echo). Through my computer into IMovie it sounded kind of distant and echoey, even though I tried to make sure the levels were good and had the mic at the same distance, in the same room. Any idea what might be happening?

I currently use a Takstar SGC-598 on a boom pole. It’s ok and for the price I’m not complaining, but as I get closer to 1000 subs (currently at nearly 860 as of this comment), I want to upgrade my audio. Thinking about the Rode Wireless Go, but also considering the Audio Technica AT875R and recording externally. I haven’t decided yet. I don’t mind syncing audio in post when the quality is better, but do like the convenience of going straight into camera.

I have never regretted spending money on audio solutions - I believe it’s something you don’t have to worry about upgrading potentially ever - I do like how the micro doesn’t need a battery - however the diety shuts on and off with the camera which saves the life of the battery

Now that you have asked, we use Boya lav wifi mic which served its purpose for over six years quite comfortably. But now the sound recording has started to break intermittently in the middle of words and sentences which becomes irretrievable in post. So today we have got Rode Go II as its replacement. Have to say earlier when I used Sony handycam about ten years ago (SR 10E) its came with a fabulous wifi mic which didn't fail even once. We actually forgot about sound issues altogether when we used that camera. Hope Rode Go Ii turns out to be like that. The only problem with that Sony wifi mic was the interface which had no adapter for other cameras. But it was one hell of a complete mic system for run and gun filmmaking.

I currently use the Rode Videomic Go, and get TONS of hissing an popping! Reading up on the issue, MANY people think this is because of strong WIFI signals nearby interfering with the phantom power/signal. Is this a problem with the Rode Wireless Go??!! Is this an example of the poor quality of the Rode Brand as a whole??!! Or is this just a design flaw in the Rode Videomic Go (the boom pic that comes with the Canon M50 in many packages)??!!

There doesnt seem to be a way to attach the Rode if you wear a tshirt. The color is just too close, and then you spend days removing your own breathing....its infuriating. I work on cars in my vids, so a button shirt, polo or whatnot just dont work. Yes, quality is good, but its sensitivity at close range is too high. And the dead cat is useless. Unless you're stationary, it will fall off. And somebody;s tip of taping around your chest and putting the mic lower is just...well, its dumb and doesnt work. Also, why does the clip have to be straight versus angled, so the mic is facing upward? If I wear my overalls with have a zipper and I can snap it lower, the mic is pointing to the side, so if Im under the car and turn my head...no more audio.

Hey Sean, thank you for this great channel and amazing videos. I've been looking for a rode wireless go type (that small, or at least portable) transmitter and receiver for transmitting audio-only (no mic stuff). I have a small audio setup with portable mixer hat is plugged in to a camera for my live streaming. The problem is that the mixer needs to be plugged in to the camera which is a deal breaker for me because i want to use my mixer when i'm around, I don't necessarily want to be stuck behind the tripod all the time. I've tried those Bluetooth sound systems on amazon and even the expensive ones and most of them have big delays (20-60 ms) which makes it unusable for live streaming. If i had a device that transmits the audio signal just like rode wireless didl, i could use my portable mixer when I'm in the streaming area. I just need small portable device (hopefully like rode) that transmits and receives a stereo audio signal. (i've tried using rode as an audio transmitter but it clipped some of the frequencies in the sound since it's designed for human voice) I really believe someone is going to help me here:) Thanks a lot!

I use a zoom podtrak p4 as my mixer, it pretty much solves for everything and also record multi-track directly to an SD card. The usb and additional bluetooth plug in adapter allow me to pull audio from pretty much anything I want and also feed that audio back into my computer through a usbc cable. havent tried to plug in the wireless go II into the usb port on the zoom but im sure it would work, but I still have the mic input on it I could use or an slr to 1/8 inch adapter to plug the rode into.

Based on Think Media recommendations I bought the Boys BY-M1 - I love the sound quality. For $30 it has amazing sound quality and the length of the cable is really useful to get some distance from the camera. However as a solo operator it is hard to move things between shots around while connected via a cable. So I am exploring wireless options.
