Lost parent is a great term for it. I was a lost parent. However, my wife and kids were not lost, I had lost them for about 10 minutes. Since I knew they were together when last I saw them, I figured they were okay. We did get back together at a place I did not expect them, but they had been waiting for me. Only mild panic on my part as I had the car keys.

We were staying at the Disneyland Hotel sometime 2005, my son(8yrs)found a camera. He turned it in when we checked into our hotel. They all applauded him and could not say enough nice things about him being so honest. Later that day, we returned to our hotel to find a plate full of Micky Mouse cookies and ice cold milk and a super nice thank you card from Mickey and his friends. My son was so excited and we were all so in awe of how thoughtful that crew was and totally not expecting that wonderful gesture. My mom on that same trip found a ladies wallet in the restroom, she turned it in to a police officer right away in downtown disney. I left my phone in the restroom this past January. A wonderful lady found it, I called the phone and she met me by the restroom. Karma comes back in one shape or form, so if you find something, absolutely give it to a cast member or police officer. They do have an amazing lost and found. If you think that you have lost something let someone know and make a record of it, you never know when it will turn up. Super Duper Yeah to the Cast Members and Police Officers. Wahoo!!!!

Was on a trip with a friend getting on the bus to a park. A couple got on the bus with a tiny baby, a toddler, and both parents juggling strollers. As soon as the bus doors closed they realize that they were missing a four-year-old child. Turns out he got excited to see the bus in front of ours that was wrapped with a marvel character theme. He had gotten on that bus and no one noticed. The cast members immediately sprang into action, reassured the parents, and the bus left to go to the Magic Kingdom, stopped in a special spot, and the other bus was directed to come to this spot immediately. Child and parents were reunited at the Magic Kingdom. Everybody cried! Everybody.

My sister and I both developed medical issues (my legs swelled up hugely and my sister had a chest infection), and had no car or idea of what to do. Turns out that the local hospital has a walk-in urgent care nearby, and they have a shuttle that goes to any resort in the area. They took both of our insurances, and even had the most common prescription medication there. They are also a 5 minute walk from Walgreens, so we stocked up on some stuff and got shuttled back to Pop Century to rest and recover. We had a really good experience for such a yucky situation. (Seriously - drink water!!!!! Would have saved both of us a lot of problems)

A couple of additional tips - in the same vein: (1) _if_ you are running a little slow because of a Disney restaurant situation (this has happened to us - sometimes restaurants have minor disasters) tell your server you have a tight fastpass. They will expedite (to their ability) and put a note, or something on your check. When you get to the fastpass attraction, explain the situation and show the receipt - apparently this is not advertised, but commonly done. (We had a situation with breakfast at The Plaza Restaurant, and while everything was delightful, they were running a bit off pace. Note - we should have had plenty of time, the restaurant had an emergency no show, and was struggling a bit This cut into our window for an early fastpass on Jungle Cruise. This is what the cast members at both locations told us). (2): Also remember that the cabs at Disney World are quick, professional, and surprisingly inexpensive. In our experience ~ US$20 will get you from point A to B anywhere on property. (Your tipping policy is your own decision - mine is generous, so you may spend less, or a little more). Also be aware, we have had "cast members" (I am still not sure) put us into into a non-licensed, non-liveried cab. And argue with me when I initially objected. (This was at an Epcot area, non Disney property). Like an idiot, I relented (nice dinner, extra martini). It turned out fine - price was fair, trip was direct, but still. I believe that Mears is the only authorized cab company allowed on property. I'm sure I will be corrected if memory is incorrect on that detail.

Funny story now, not so funny when it happened. My first time at Disney World, my friend and I got separated from my parents. We were checking into Port Orleans-French Quarter, and we saw Arcade. So, we told my parents we were going to the arcade. My dad said ok, yeah. My friend and I went to the arcade. It was literally right around the corner from the front desk. An hour or so goes by, and my friend wouldn't let me play a game. We were 10. I went out to the lobby to tell on him, haha, my parents are nowhere to be found. I figured they had gone to take the stuff up to the room. I went back to the arcade. About 15 minutes later the door flies open, and I see my dad with a very, very upset look on his face. Apparently, the ok yeah we heard was to the lady at the front desk and not to us going to the arcade. I thought my first Disney World trip was over before it started. We laugh about it now, but I know for them it was super scary. It was a simple misunderstanding, but a very serious simple misunderstanding.

Ahh that just reminded me when my then 3 year old got lost at Typhoon Lagoon in 2017. I was running around like a crazy lady crying until I walked past Lost Parent station and saw my daughter as calm as a cucumber sat with a CM playing Connect 4.."hi mummy, did you get lost?" 🤣 I was like - huh?! Its so great Disney does this as my daughter would have been hysterical otherwise! Plus the CM was so lovely, she didnt judge me or look down on me. Y'know you already feel like the worst parent anyway 😕

The shops with clothing will give you a pair of free underwear in an emergency situation. They don't necessarily have it for sale, but ask a cast member, and help is granted. Sometimes the unexpected can happen to a mortified teenager... Also, know where the first aid stations are. They are amazing. Need a quiet few minutes to settle your stomach after a ride--first aid. So yesterday I had reservations at Trails End Restaurant, I’ve never eaten there but wanted to try it. My GPS was taking me to wilderness lodge, it’s actually at the campground. This is an instance where a cast member wasn’t helpful, the lady in the guard booth said she was new, didn’t know where it was so she gave me a map. Thing is, you park at check in & take a bus to Trails End. I called Disney Dining & they changed my reservation without charging me $10.

7:56 - How to deal with car trouble. Unrelated question, but why does every WDW park seem to have the hoods up on all their K9 units? Does anyone know? It seems that every time I visit any WDW park there's several security vehicles out front but the K9 units always have their hoods up. They're not all having car trouble at the same time, are they? Some sort of battery kill switch? Auto-cooler for the dog inside which requires the hood to be up?....for some reason?
