Hey man I just found your channel! It's very cool to see someone having such success growing plants in phoenix. Would you be willing to part with one of your banana pups? I live in Glendale and would love to give it a shot.

Help! I am a beginner at planting. A friend of mine cut out a pup and brought it to me in a pot. I think I overwatered it. It looks dead. Is it something that can still grow (similar to planting seeds), if I replant it in the ground?

thank you for this video. how often ,and what should be used to fertilize banana plants?

Bananas love to eat, so you can give them lots of food all throughout the year. I throw any organic material I have around them. They even love the steer manure you can buy for real cheap at any big box store.

Could you show us a banana harvest and the cutting down of the mother tree? Also, will the stalk “stump” that is cut down ever go away? We just moved into a new house with banana trees and we have a patch with a few trunks and just as many dead stumps that take up a lot of room

Does a banana pup, after replanting, develop its own rhizome?

Just found your channel. This is awesome. I live in Kentucky. Because we have cold weather and snow in the winter, would I need to dig up some pups and bring them inside to produce fruit?

Hey, my Banana (Basjoo) in zone 6 has had a bit of browning in the new growth. I sprayed it with copper fungicide because someone said it looked like a fungal issue. Also, can I put blood feed fertilizer on mine? I heard that blood feed is good, but the problem is that it has been mid to high 80s even low 90s every day which some people said could be too hot. Should I wait until maybe low 80s?

I’ve got two bananas that are planted in the ground for a year now. They’ve grown well. Wondering how old they have to be before producing bananas? I think one is an ice cream, the other I’m not sure of. It was a pup from a friend

Dude, I think you know more about bananas than you do mangos and you know EVERYTHING about mangos! You got lots and lots of information with cho bad self!! I have had a great deal of luck with SOFT fertilizers: fish, black water, goat crap, chicken crap, coffee grounds like that. Can't wait for your next video on Red bananas, Ice Cream, and all the different species of banana. There was one other thing...Planting semi-tropical shrubs with are not dense and cold tolerant, even evergreen around the banana to protect it during the cold. Ah, you covered all this. Nevermind.

I just purchased banana seeds from Baker Creek and live here in Phoenix. Have you ever grown from seed before? Any tips? Thank you!

That is something I have not done! I would probably start the seeds indoors by a window and probably keep them indoors until next spring.

Once the mother plant dies, do you cut it out or just leave it to compost down in place?
@TheGardenNerd

I cut it out and throw it elsewhere to breakdown and compost.

My challenge is to keep these suckers alive during winter. I only have one small window in the room that the sun comes in during the winter. I have 2 calamondin survived. Don't waste the banana heart , you can simply cook it and eat it.
