Survivor bias much? If you want to be a successful businessman, doing all these things is great n' all, but at the end of the day, if you don't actually work on your business, you're not going anywhere. If you don't do these things, but work on your business, you are still definitely going in the right direction. Just saying.

@k.a2110

#5. Eat and sleep. The "eat" part you've got it down, but being successful is not something you just do in your free time. It needs dedication and hard work, and honestly, while it's healthy, getting a good night's sleep should be the last thing on your mind. I'm sure more than a few successful people will admit that they've had more than a few sleepless nights.

There are at least two problems in thinking that copying habits of highly successful people will result in success for oneself: 1/ Survivor bias. There could be many more people with the exact same habits whose lives are complete failures. Hard to know without monitoring samples of successful versus unsuccessful people for their habits. Of course, that would require an operational definition of success, too. 2/ Correlation isn't causation. Assuming success and these habits are indeed statistically correlated, maybe there is a third variable causing people to both have these habits and be successful. Would that be the case, adopting these habits alone might not be useful. It could be that scientists have already ruled these caveats out, unfortunately it's hard to know because I don't see any link to scientific sources in the description.
@jankyyard5610
6 жыл бұрын
Well, success=luck(hardwork^focus)/time. Even though these habits doesn't have the guarantee to make you successful, these could help to improve your lifestyle. P.S. I only made up that "success formula" based on my observations about self-help and productivity techniques stuff.
