actually, switch is the more difficult, the longer you go without. I learned switch right away. Along a hand rail to the right and to the left for a few weeks. After a month I have both directions almost equally developed. Cant tell the difference. Because the brain has not settled on one way. The same goes also for 180, and 360 and cruising. If you do both at the same time, there is no favorite. Am 55 and am freesakting since may and have all 180 and some 360. So I strongly suggest to NOT go a long time only in one direction. This makes is so much more difficult to learn switch.

Okay I thought you had to be on right and left skates correctly to pump, how tf are they still pumping after a switch it?

Excellent question! It’s all in the placement. Since the decks are no longer pointed correctly, you compensate by putting your feet corner-to-corner. This puts the wheels in the correct position, which is the most important thing! We might actually make a video explaining this 👍

Was the Tokyo trick originated in Tokyo?

It originated when Mattie Tyce returned from Tokyo where he skated in a Tokyo Disney production back in 2008. A tribute to his time there
