That fifth tip is one that I feel very passionately about personally, so it was super validating to hear you bring it up in this video!

Thanks for the tips, tip 2 is such a hard one for me, I hate posting online anywhere, I have done a bit of content here and there, but it is so stressful to make the actual content, I have had my game out in EA on Steam since September. I would rather hyper-fixate on the game dev part, but the lack of sales is very demoralizing. It is a good thing that I love the game, so it is easy to work on.

Yeah for sure, marketing is mega tough. Always a great sign when the game is easy to make, I encourage you to seek more ways to reach different audiences, good luck! What's your game called? Would love checking it out!

@@Conradical My game is called Eldritch Exterminators. Thanks for the advice, I wonder what all of the different ways to market a game are.

I do think tip 4 is not complete. Its about saturation, not just about demand. If there are so many strategy games that yours will never be noticed, it's worse than if the puzzle genre has a real lack of games. Not saying that this example is true, its just an example. Other than that really good video!

That's definitely true as an additional point, but there are tons of resources documenting different platforms' preferences. The source of the graph in that section is in the description, great resource, I recommend checking it out!

Nice video, I'm not sure if it's really for beginners. I think this would be more for people with enough experience to consider making their first monetized release. I think it would be too early to focus on marketing and publishing on a platform like steam which has a cost to put your game up. Maybe 5 game dev tips for your first commercial project would be more appropriate?

Could you talk a little bit about forming a company/LLC and if it's even required, vs releasing as an individual? The pros and cons of both and legal fees, protections etc?
