When you don't have your tarps deployed out on your beds how do you store them? Just folded up in the field?
@happyhillsfarm9598

We store our tarps beside the feild blocks they cover as they are pretty heavy to move far distances. Plus that has the added benefit of keeping perennial weeds from encroaching on the outer garden beds! ❤

Thank you for the reply! We told our 100x40ft tarps into a big square and leave it next to the plot but we are noticing lots of vole activity under it so we are trying to come up with other ideas. I'm amazed doing it the way you suggest doesn't bring rodents to your perimeter? Or perhaps it does. And if so, how do you control them?

Quels types d’amendement utilisez-vous en plus du compost?

Un teste de terre cest tres important pour identify l'amendment pour votre context. A soil test is probably the best means of identifying the best fertilizer for your context. Excuse mon francais... :(

Great tip on sucession planting! We can take it even a step further in an agroforestry/market garden hybrid model and have tree rows which also follow species sucession and evolve over time.

all great stuff, thanks! i really like #2 and the idea of having beds and garden blocks of sizes that work with materials like cloths, tubing, lumber, etc. every time i find myself cutting materials out of a 25 or 50' length I'm always thinking 'this would be better in the long chunk I bought it in'
@happyhillsfarm9598

We build our permanent raised beds 50 feet long thinking it was an even number without realizing that the tarps/cloths often need excess at the ends for securing. Now our beds are 45 feet long so the 50 foot material is more effective. ❤

Very nice! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I am fairly new to this channel and am amazed at the tools you use. I’m still using rare tine gas tiller… I would appreciate a video (in winter, off season😊) that does a walk through of your tool shed, or more likely barn😅 with a brief discussion about some of the dibblers and other specialized tools. Also could you provide a manufacturer name (s) of those tools? Thank you again!✌️

Thanks for the comment David! I think we will be doing more videos about tools in the coming year! In the meantime, there's quite a few suppliers/companies that are a great place to start looking at tools. Johnnys Selected Seeds, Dubois Agrinovation, Bootstrap Farmer, Growers & Co, Farmers Friend, Terrateck, Two-Bad Cats etc. to name a few!! Good luck. - Chris MGI
